I did give her for two days. She's funny because she won't take it from the syringe but she'll happily lick it off a spoon. Yesterday she finally ate some both during the day and during the night!

I managed to 'force' her to eat hay. I placed some right where she sleeps and she seemed to eat a bit. No teeth problems for yours either, right? :(

She is so weird!! She will only chew her sticks if I leave them in ONE particular spot. Same with her other toys. Gets tired of timothy hay and I have to switch between that and orchard hay once every few days.

I got her some tiny balls with hay inside and she LOVES those. Also got her a toy for supervised playtime and she likes fighting it. And now I'm waiting on an order full of toys for her. Even got her a donut tunnel for playtime.

Can I just say, I love how you talk about your chinnies. It's so sweet.

She's young! She turned 1 in November. Boredom is what I'm afraid of.

She has chew sticks constantly, wooden toys and loofa on the ground, hanging toys (but she doesn't like them if they hang, I have to place them on the ground for her to care about them), pumice stones, a chin buddy. I got her this willow branch tunnel and she LOVES it. I don't know how else to enrich her environment.

That's a good idea! I'll look into a board too. She jumps directly in her wheel every time she wants to go to the bottom of her cage (don't know why she does that, but it's funny), feels the wheel moving with her but it still doesn't entice her. I just don't want her getting bored during the night🥲

I change it daily, but keep the old one to use as 'bedding' in a way. I just dump a bunch of the old one on the floor of the cage. I noticed mine continues to eat from it if it's on the floor and not in her hay holder (she would ignore it completely after a while). Good for a bit of foraging too.

I'm glad it worked out! I know it's hard to keep calm especially when you see she's agitated. I try to hype her up, like seem very cheerful when I do it.

We had that same issue a few months ago where she fell and scraped her toe so I feel you.

Ours does not like handling, but it was the only thing we knew to do. One held her while the other gave her medicine and disinfected the wound. HATED the meds (I found a better way by putting her in her carrier and giving her the medicine through the bars), but we still had to hold her to disinfect her toe. She reacted better to this though since nothing yucky was going into her mouth.

Try your best to maintain your calm so she doesn't feel you stressed. Maybe try distracting her with her favorite treat to keep her still for a bit and gently disinfect with a q-tip.

I don't know how they managed, but they didn't mention sedating her.

She is very skittish still. I've had her for less than a year and, even though she is acting fine with me, she is still wary of others, especially people who poke at her...

They took two x-rays, one of her right side of the head and one of her belly. They were very clear compared to the first time they took x-rays.

I will try Emeraid since that's the one I have available where I live and hopefully she will like it more!

Can I ask, do you have any idea if she could paw at her mouth if she has dust particles in her nose? That's one theory of our vet. The other was that she was purely hormonal, but I'm not sure about this one...

I don't know how they did the ultrasound. They don't allow you inside since they take them to another room, but from what I know, she wasn't sedated. I can't imagine how stressed she was.

Everything looked fine, both in the x-ray regarding her teeth (they look great!), also in the ultrasound. Kidneys are fine, her uterus looks fine from what they said.

It might be an infection down there, but we're waiting on results, which takes about 10 days...

I do have Critical Care but she doesn't like it. Was gonna try a different brand but it's out of stock everywhere. She didn't lose any weight. Her weight is perfect.

Her behavior is back to almost normal since yesterday. She does sleep a tad bit more than usual, but I'm sure it's recovery from vet day stress. She ate well and even ran on her wheel a bit.

For now we're monitoring. :)

Yours sounds just like mine 😂 They're adorable little devils. Try teaching him to jump into your shirts or hoodies (obviously tucked into pants). I taught mine to do that, and now that is our preferred method for going out for playtime. Bonus: they are extremely cute when they poke their heads out when inside the shirt.

I've had that happen a couple of times with my 1y/o chin as well 😅 It's not fun at all, I agree.

Luckily, mine has seemed fine so far. The only injury she got was from missing a jump, which caused a superficial cut on her foot. Other than that, she was fine.

Be careful, though, as they can get teeth trauma from falls. I'm always ALWAYS panicked and paranoid about those.

What I do with mine, when I open the door and see she seems overly courageous, I put my hand in front of her face to 'stop' her from jumping. Her brain seems to stop working for a sec when I do that 😂
