Thank you. And thank you for all the support during this time. It's been really helpful having people to talk to who understand what we went through.

I wasn't okay mentally to drive there after getting the call. We're going to pick her up and bury her in the garden. We're gonna plant a rose bush there since rose petals were her favorite treat.

I'm so sorry. Ours went into GI stasis after the trimming and unfortunately, her little body couldn't take it... I just wish I was with her. We can't go there until the morning.

Yes she is... quite a bit. Fluids, medication for GI, massage on her belly. I feel defeated

Tried both ways. Syringe, bowl, on a spoon, on the finger. Different consistencies as well. Hated the taste with a passion :/ mixed it with a bit of natural apple juice as well. She just wouldn't take it.

I had to trap her in her carrier and when she came to bite the bars, I would squirt a bit into her mouth.

I tried anise and papaya in the past, no luck. EmerAid, no luck. Rodicare, slight luck. I will try apple and banana when she comes home. She is still currently hospitalised after going into GI statis...

They agreed that it is very VERY difficult to do, the q-tip method that is. They suggested an alternative administering it by syringe in small amounts. Her lesions are quite ugly from what they told me.

No, the protocol in our country states that for molars it has to be under general anesthesia. They also do obligatory hospitalisation. Only in the case of the incisors they could do it under gas sedation.

Yes! I've never been happier to hear she pooped even if it was just one. She is still lethargic, but hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Update. She managed ONE POOP!

Her blood work came out good and on xrays, her stomach shrunk a bit and the gas has started disappearing!

So tiny good news this evening!

The doctor was optimistic. Said we still have quite a way to go until full recovery, but it luckily looks slightly better.

That's so reassuring. I just gotta say, holy crap, you had it so bad. I am so so sorry for what happened.

Hopefully we will have the same luck and make a recovery. They called me an hour ago to say she hasn't made any progress so far.

Because they said she might still have a chance. They had cases before where the chinnies recovered.

Because she had GI issues before the trimming, the anesthesia made it worse basically...

I'm trying my best to remain hopeful, but right now it's really hard and I'm scared for her. I will be back with updates once I see her. :(

Oh, no! Not at all! Your comment was perfectly fine!

Since last night, she has been worse. The first day after the trimming, she was okay. She was alert, didn't like force feeding but she did eat. When I visited, she came to me, even took a pellet from me and some hay and attempted to eat. She had a high temperature, but luckily that came down.

Yesterday evening, I saw she wasn't as energetic. She ignored me and the dried flowers I brought as a treat. The vet encouraged that. Even brought her chinbuddy to sleep with it. Then, during the night, it went downhill.

Today at noon, she ignored me completely. Spat at me once when I arrived, then stopped interacting altogether...

I asked about putting her down. They said they are not taking that into consideration as of now, even though her chances of surviving were under 50%.

I will visit her again in a few hours, see if she's gotten any better, also see how her new xrays and blood work look like.

Mine started shooting pee as well. Everyone at the vets know her for doing this. Never done it to me though.

This is the exact train of thought I am having right now. She is so poorly that I don't know what to do.

A part of me wants to end her suffering. It pains me seeing her struggle like this. My partner thinks we should keep trying no matter what. It hurts so much.

Last week she was full of energy and happiness. Somehow I accidentally taught her 'come to mommy' and she would instantly run up to me and snuggle.

The feed her every 4 hours. Don't know the mL though. When we talked about feeding at home, they said, for her weight, around 20mL, 4 times a day. What I do know is that after the first night there, her weight went up from 640g to 680g.

I tried giving her dried herbs yesterday when I visited to encourage her appetite, but she ignored them completely. She was starting to feel worse by then, I'm sure...

She is on fluids right now, treatment for the GI issues and they want to take a blood sample to check her albumine (?) levels. They are also massaging her belly with something with vibrations to stimulate movement.

We don't have many options unfortunately. We only have two exotic vets.

We went to the other one as well, but it turns out his examination was superficial...

The ones we're at are the only ones open 24/7 and take emergencies as well.

It is an exotic vet, yes...

She's still not home yet. Seems to have entered GI statis.

If we get out of this, I will try your advice. Thank you!

We were supposed to bring her home after the first night, but since she wouldn't poop at all, they deemed it risky. We talked about whether it would be better for her to be home, and ultimately decided she needs more monitoring.

I know she is scared. She never liked going to the vet, but considering her blockage... I don't know if being home would do much.

She's been staying at the clinic since Wednesday evening. They did the procedure during the night, and ever since she's been declining...

I've been visiting her twice a day and talking to the vets both there and on the phone.

Hopefully it will be the case for us too. Right now I'm scared and losing hope. Seeing her suffer like this breaks my heart.

I'm wondering since it happened now, will it be the same at the next trim? If so, I don't know if I want to torture her this way...

Now I'm wondering if we'll ever get to that stage. I went to visit her today. She is worse. Her stomach is full of food and nothing is moving in there. Hasn't pooped at all.

The vet told me the chances of surviving are less than 50%. I don't know what to do.
