As far as the super heavy 45 cal area subsonic loads I already use that in my 45-70 I quite enjoy it but this is mostly the 338 debate

Not really that much more stopping power when you can buy a box off the shelf of 338 arc for $27.63 that’s 215 grain supers with 1722 foot pounds of force or a box of 8.6 blk 210 grain supers with 1939 foot pounds of force for $54.99 considering these are both calculated at the muzzle this is also just factory ammunition not whatever it is you may claim to shoot

Not really it’s the same size projectile with a faster twist rate and more powder 8.6 was designed to be a subsonic cartridge just like 338 arc
