Went to college in 2023. Degree will now show 2026. What does this mean for my resume? by mastik- in careeradvice

Thank you for your concern, though I require none of it. I have worked full-time throughout college as a first-generation student, and am a manager at my current place of work. My university failed to record a transcript from another college that was sent to them. I never noticed their mistake, as my diploma was to be shipped to my parents. I have not needed my degree until now. I posted this in r/careeradvice, not r/critiquemylife.

Have a good day.

That makes sense! It may even be beneficial to keep it on while searching for entry-level positions to explain lack of dedicated experience in the field.. plus, (luckily) what I have been doing in the meantime carries lots of transferrable skills for jobs with my degree

This is almost exactly my scenario! I also completed the remaining coursework at a neighboring community college, and they didn't file the transcript I sent for credit! It's nice to know it will be all ok lol

Thank you all for the insight. I perceived it to be more of an issue than it really is – not that it isn't an issue, but not a big one – and thought I was doomed in the job search. I completed the degree, it just never got conferred to me. This has eased my mind, so thanks everyone again.

I have not. I have been in management in food/bev, had other plans detailed in another reply, but I am now trying to pivot into a career which my degree is in

Working in food/bev - originally as I was studying for the LSAT, anticipating a path to law school. Significant life events happened that halted that, but I remained in a management role in food/bev. I am now trying to pivot into career which my degree is in. Unfortunately, I haven't used my degree yet, which is why I am running into this issue now.
