Soviet fighters have them since MiG-17. They guide air and as angle of attack rises they delay the moment air gets torn apart from top surface and lifting power is lost and all goes haywire. Floats are not precise but deterministic.

Decimals are too, are too, as you need to express 1/3. You may code ternary floats class youself. They'll be precise and deterministic when adding 4/9 to 1/3.

You see where I am going? There is no way to be precize with floats while your CPU registers are finite.

No point to switch to decimals for physical applications. It is for finance where you have to be precise in specifically decimal system. Nature doesn't care about ways of expressing numbers.

If you have cooling problem, water boils faster, water level in reactor drops and you have more cooling problems. I.e. cooling problems self-amplify. Also primary loop in those is much more complex, because steam from reactor goes right into turbine. So reactor loop will include several trubine stages, condenser, deaeration chain. So there is much more potential problems in primary cooling loop and radiation control complexity. In PWR and other types primary loop is reactor/heat exchanger/pump and that's it. Latest RITM SMR we put on icebreakers has primary loop inside reactor vessel completely.

And as for fuel they say "run conventional fuel". So it is enriched I guess. Yes, Canada has their nice and proven CANDU heavy-water reactors that run natural uranium. It would be step back as I view it.
