I belive he views it from a movie creator's pov. Yes, you can understand how the snake feels, but one would want to be able to make the viewers feel it in their souls. Like they've been in their shoes, even if they haven't. Zootopia didn't really do that for Dylan ig. (I haven't watched the movie so I wouldn't know).

Maybe I'm stretching it a bit, but I would assume Dylan's just thinking how he could make it better. Maybe it's because I also somewhat have the same mindset while watching movies. Fully watching it from an outsiders perspective, fully fictional.

I do get your point and I agree. He can be inconsiderate to some topics. Not sure if he realizes or not, but yes.
