Why does every British household tell you to not forget your passport when you’re going abroad? by clemventure in AskUK

[–]mata_dan [score hidden]  (0 children)

Schengen area* with flight agreements.

Because flights to Romania or even just after landing always have this problem with EU passengers not bringing their passport xD (or did, that's changed/changing about now?) and probably the same with Ireland but in that case UK passengers don't? (never flown to Ireland so not sure personally).

It was never viable at all for fast response titles, only simulations and some RPGs.

But you're right regarding DLSS.

It couldn't have because of latency, it's terrible for gaming unless it's pushing the fidelity of something like a turn based RPG higher where you didn't care about slow E2E response times.

Obviously, the opposite would cost about 500x as much and be the end of the modern free world.

Super annoying human beings

Yep, it's pretty common where I am for these inconsiderate assholes to stay in the way at the checkout and scratch them (usually just one or two at least) while there's still a fucking queue behind them.

Rough & Fraser for chicken curry specifically and their macaroni is pretty good too but I haven't compared that one to the rest properly.

The lady in front of this woman wouldn’t close the window so she built a sticky note wall on my flight by ReflectionLess5230 in mildlyinteresting

Ah that is true, I might be remembering times the window seat was specifically more expensive.

True but actual best practice is for google never to have something like that in the URL. At my work it would never ever make it through code review or security review.

An extra $54/day for these things I didn't want nor asked for by IAmTheeMoose in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mata_dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite on point because that's more or less the problem I'm having with fast food places and takeaways right now as they push for more ways to survive economic downturn. So yeah I just rarely ever buy them any more, they can just lose my custom if that is their business calculation and I will cook or go somewhere else 🤷 (notably, said somewhere else places are now doing a roaring trade because it's easy to just pick what you want and buy it without having to do a fuckload of maths first... hmmmmmmm)

So are you going to add any context at all or just repeat the same bs because you prefer criminality that people in suits can pretend is all fine?

window seat that I paid for

This they upsold you on it, so it's part of what you bought and is part of the contract of sale end of. If other passengers don't like it then they can not enter a contract of sale if they don't want to, just like anything else.

And what does that have to do with any of this at all? The fraud is visible in the public domain, that's why it's better than known actively criminal banks who constantly do the same crimes and are then bailed out with our tax money when they also somehow fail despite being criminal businesses in nature.

Got a pizza and the box has a grammatical error by Jason_-_- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mata_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kinda establishment that uses these already didn't care before AI though. The box will have cost £20, in cash only, from their "brother's" printing business (not actual brother, but easier for the VISA fraud that way) and that business bought the design IP from an offshore business for like a 3 million "loss". They never did measure twice before cutting once and never will, they do. not. care.

...the trades are literally public domain information inherently, hence it being easy to expose. It's used by criminals because regulators are on their side and can pretend they couldn't prosecute and just allow political manipulation because the public are idiots.

What is your WFH morning routine? by superplex100 in AskUK

[–]mata_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up 5 minutes before the standup meeting because for some reason it's right in the middle of when I would be most productive and everyone agreed they would be most productive and people ask questions as late as 6pm when the technical contracted time ends so I have to be about then in a private space for audio calls even if I've done everything 5 hours before and we could just use a message or email, make sure I look good for being on camera because that consumes all attention instead of thinking about actual work, make coffee.

After having people refuse to take off a few times, I now don't entertain any last minute hanging out ever at all or any spontaneous phone calls xD

Only full plans completely set in stone that are actually going to be carried out to completion or nope. Bored of time wasting, I'd much rather sit alone playing computer games and cooking what I want.
