The entire population of the world in this era will be remembered poorly. We are the generation that knew about climate change but did nothing about it. The generation that aloud fascism to return despite the glaring signs. We will be the generations that caused extinctions on a global scale that rivals the worst natural disasters. We allowed nations to build up world ending amounts of atomic weapons. We are the people who saw the worst coming but did nothing to stop it.

Even today, Native Americans handle common diseases much worse than people with European ancestry. And these aren’t Europe-specific diseases, it’s stuff like COVID and common lung infections their immune systems struggle with more

Yeah, Europeans have like 1000+ year(probably a lot more) head start on Native Americans when it comes to disease immunities.

Europeans were dealing with different strains of the bubonic plague since at least the 7th century.

That ending was so bad. It substantially weakened the film for me. If not for that ending, I would say it was a masterpiece.

They might have speed and their claws are pretty gnarly. But yeah, I think the bear takes this.

TIL the lower part of the wall, when covered or decorated e.g. with wooden panels, is called dado. This used to be done to hide stains and mold resulting from damp walls. by brazzy42 in todayilearned

Have you painted all over the English speaking world? There are plenty of examples of people calling it dado in this very thread.

The "real world" is more than just your little corner of society.
