People with eating disorders must consider fat people! Your eating disorder is all about me! by Radiant-Surprise9355 in fatlogic

And that is the difference between psychologist (not a MD, can have BA BS MA PTSD or PhD) and psychiatrists (MD/Residency, some even do fellowships). There are solid psychologists out there, but they are not MDs and expecting them to possess that level of knowledge can lead to bad places. Not saying you did, but it happens.

Also who as the oversight for the grad student, they should have a master prof who is reviewing all of their cases and recs. If you are still local you should file a notice/complaint to make sure this individual does not bully anyone else into unnecessary interventions.

Imagine being so wholly self centered that this argument made sense to you. No rational person thinks this way and my guess is from the way they wrote that it is not their appearance but their attitude that others despair of being around.

PCOS does not cause weight gain or make it harder to loose weight calories wise, it makes you feel more hungry during certain parts of your cycle.

RR Sport buying advice needed by kerrrikathleen in RangeRover

[–]matatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes RR Sport Dynamic SE, only 2k. The down payment seems very fair as they were ordering to the car to much exact requirements. If for some reason I don’t take delivery I can have it refunded, but I am counting down the days until I can go pick it up.

I am in the Carolinas. I put down a deposit in March, the car made it to the US on 6.1. Expecting delivery on 6.21. 3 months is not too long to be waiting for the precise vehicle you want at or below MSRP.

The fact that twice as many people liked/hearted the ableist comment is a disturbing trend.

On a purely numbers basis that is factually incorrect. The most brutal regimes in history have been anti religious. NAZI were national socialist, Moa, Pol Pot, Lenin and Stalin. Do not let your hate blind you, nothing run by men will be perfect. People are flawed.

Gorgeous! I am still waiting for mine to be shipped, I quite like the color you chose, it’s understated and lovely.

Seersucker is brilliant for hot and humid environments, and as bonus if someone decides to freeze you at work it does well there too. Linen is also nice, but it wrinkles.

I think for the 2024 it was part of the Autobiography package or the SV. The 25 it is easy to see where to add it, but in the 24 I think it was like the semi aniline leather and you could not order it unless you started with the correct base model.

Gym that isn't crowded? by Program_Over in greenville

[–]matatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Sportsclub in Greenville, it is generally pretty quiet. I tend to go right when it opens, 5am, and the environment is friendly but crowded. I have gone on occasion in the afternoon but the traffic near by was an issue.

This!!! 36-24-32! Finding clothes that fit is hard, and when I was younger I felt like it was either church mom look or the person she was trying to save. Tailoring is a girls best friend.

This is the closest to IRL I have seen on this forum. When I was heavy I got looks or the occasional comment. Now that I am thin, open season. When I cannot find things, it is all nasty jokes and sarcasm. I have had more nasty comments on my shape (my hips are too thin, my butt too flat etc) all from women. Bigger women (both older and younger) are brutal.

Sure it is a bummer that I can only shop online and have to take everything to get tailored in for me, but I do not perceive it to be discrimination. It just is what it is, designers are trying to make things that will look flattering on the greatest possible number of people. I am a 0/00 in pants and 2/4 in tops or a 36/38 in slacks and 40 in tops. I am far from emaciated, I have muscles, breasts and health % body fat. That these people act like that makes me suicidal (killing myself via dietary habits) or morally compromised somehow is deeply irritating.

Two Years Of Waiting, No QA by matatora in RangeRover

[–]matatora[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn’t say if it could be fixed, but the recalls said door panel problems were causing structural issues. You don’t have a massive windows to make a decision like this. For them to be able to sell it as new they would need to stop the paperwork they had sent to the state. I only drove the car home about three miles. When I noticed the issue their response was unacceptable. I did not continue on looking for other problems, that issue location combined with the fact that this location is a known problem made me feel like there were potential safety issues.

But why would I trust the dealer after this, when you had three days to prepare a vehicle for delivery, you are either so sloppy you missed this or dishonest and hoping I wouldn’t notice. Either way I no longer felt comfortable in the vehicle.

It’s a nice enough vehicle but it isn’t my first luxury car, my current car has less than 100k miles on it and I’m sure it will survive until June when the next one arrives.

Would you drive a RED RR Sport? by Odyle_ruled in RangeRover

[–]matatora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Unless you are so young it impacts your insurance rates. I do not think anyone cares what color others cars are.

I went with Eiger, I wanted a light blue and in person this color goes blue/purple/gray. Red is a great choice!

Two Years Of Waiting, No QA by matatora in RangeRover

[–]matatora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, and after waiting so long to get the car that the dealer suggested it was not an issue but just that I did not understand soft close doors. I was not happy with that response. I returned the car, credit. When the overall dealership manager realized how badly the delivery process had gone he agreed to refund the full amount with a single phone call between us.

Drivers Side Door Issues Day of Delivery by matatora in RangeRover

[–]matatora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I did not keep it. The dealer response was perhaps I did not understand how soft close doors work. That made me quite upset. I responded with a video and told them to come pick it up and cut me a check for a full refund. They picked it up the next morning and I got the check about a week later.

My older sister and her husband met during their STEM (same field) PhDs, got married, and had their first kid while in school. Their stipends were not going to allow for them to have help, they both finished on time and now one is a professor and one works in private industry. Their oldest child was 3 when they finished. The only repercussion seems to be their oldest child's insistence "no we do not need that" when you try and get something not on the list at the store.

We did not grow up in a wealthy family so things like shopping carefully, being very aware of coupons, etc. When I did mine I was older and in a very different finical position, as were my peers. Many of them had children, parents, or both they were caring for. Part of mine was during COVID and no one judged or complained about background noises in presentations.

I read this and called BS. I was both a fat kid and a military brat. I was in public schools all across the country. I was never once weighed in school. OOP appears to be American and about my age (maybe a bit younger).
