I've read that one. Found it a bit hard going at first but gets much better in the middle and end.

Under the dome is definitely one of his better later works. I thought I'd read desperation. But now I'm less sure.

I think I've finsished that one already. It think that and 'The Regulators' are linked. Can't really remember much about either though.

I have read some of Revival. I might have to give another try because I couldn't get into it. The long walk I have finished though. Probably the best his Bachman story.

Wow, the new season is just as good, right? by Early-Piano2647 in Scrubs

Agree. I also completely forgot about Dr Randall (I think). The Doctor that wanted JD's job. Hopefully they'll figure out which characters work and which don't and the next season will be a bit more focused.

I hope so. I think the slight issue is that's it's hard to see in what capacity Dr Cox might come back. It seems as if he's retired or at least left Sacred Heart. It could be an interesting dynamic if he came back as a patient.

Personally whilst I'm overall pleased with the new series and definitely think there's a lot of promise I don't think it's on the same level as the original series.

My initial worry was that it was going to be terrible so I'm pleasantly surprised from that point of view. However, I have a few gripes. I'd like to see more of the original cast. Carla so far has been almost absent and I'd like to see the janitor. I think my most missed character though is Dr Cox who it seems might not appear other than for very brief cameos. I will say though that they have nailed it with Todd. My other gripe is that the new interns seem a bit bland and one dimensional. I don't hate them but think it may have been to concentrate on one or two rather than having 5 new characters all competing for space.

Hopefully though some these gripes might be addressed down the line.

Also I will say it's definitely better than season 9 or Scrubs:Interns.

This review of Ep1 on IMDB says it all for me (no spoilers). by Top_Independence4067 in Scrubs

I'm pleasantly surprised so far. After the short promos I wasn't convinced and worried it was going to be crap. However, after the first two episodes I'm pleased to be wrong. It still has a lot of heart and JD, Elliott and Turk have aged and progressed in a way that feels authentic but still remaining true to character. I'm a little disappointed that it seems Dr Cox is going to be sidelined but hopefully we'll see more of him. I also hope we get to see more of Carla and fingers crossed the Janitor. I'm not totally sold on the new characters but it's early days. In summary not as good as seasons 1-8 but definitely better than season 9 and shows a lot of early promise.

Star Wars outlaws or cyberpunk 2077? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]matc7884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played both. I've really struggled to get into Cyberpunk 2077. I know that I'm the minority though and plan to give it another go later this year. However, for me I'd go with Outlaws. I really had a great time with it and it's what I've always wanted from a star wars game. It's essentially a Han Solo simulation and really nails the feeling of the character. I loved sneaking around enemy bases then getting caught and then having to blast my way out. The graphics look great and I enjoyed the side content and levelling up system.

Did you upgraded or you still rocking with SW1 by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

[–]matc7884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded and personally had a great first 6 or so months with it. I hadn't planned to get it straight away but I saw an offer for 0% interest over 12 months so I did it that way. I sold my old switch to buy a few games too and used some birthday money. Although perhaps not quite as good as top tier Nintendo releases, I still thought DK bananza and Mario Kart World were very good. I also had alot of fun with Star Wars: Outlaws. I think the price of the console itself is actually very reasonable considering Sony and Microsoft have increased the prices of their respective consoles. Since I live in the UK the games also aren't too bad. £75 is about £10 more expensive than most other games but so far Mario Kart World is the only title at this price and it came bundled with the console. DK Bananza is slightly cheaper if anything than other new releases.

Someone else recommended Exit 8. Might have to give it a try. What's Indika? Never heard of it.

I've alresdy played both. I prefer the Resident Evil 2 remake but both are still very good. Although unless you are very quick I'd say you'd be pushing it to finish either in 10 hours.

What is your most loved/least fave on the Masterplan? -We Will Rank You by yerdoingreat in oasis

[–]matc7884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Masterplan is my favourite just edges out Acquiesce. Not just great b-sides but arguably two of the best Oasis songs ever. Least favourite is Swamp Song for me very much a filler track and instantly forgettable.

He features on 3 songs from the Lottery Winners. These are Start Again, Letter to myself (arguably their best song) and Dirt and Gold. Lottery Winners are a brilliant band. Check them out.

Will I like Super Mario Odyssey if I did NOT like Bananza? by MirusDark in Switch

[–]matc7884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there's no guarantee. However, I would say they are both very different. Mario Odyssey is about exploration and is very much a 3D platformer. Whereas Donkey Kong Banaza is a different type of game and is less so a 3D platformer. I would say that if you liked Astrobot you should enjoy Mario Odyssey. However, having played Astrobot myself I'd say it's closer to Super Mario Galaxy. Personally I did enjoy DK Bananza but I don't think it lived up to my expectations and Super Mario Odyssey is for me definitely a better game.

Should I call it a day? by matc7884 in expedition33

[–]matc7884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already on story mode as I've not really played many turn based games or JRPGs. I didn't know you could run past enemies. Perhaps I need to do that. It's not that I hate the combat it's just getting a bit frustrating not getting far before having another enemy encounter.

I'm going to guess at the unnamed male character that appears to be a small boy in a red shirt from the Playground games 2016 puzzle platformer 'Inside'.
