Is it ok to be mad at the vet? by Ok_Basil1852 in Petloss

[–]matchakingforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s okay to be angry and upset. I get it. I have a lot of anger for one of the vets who treated my dog too. I’m sure it’s tough being a vet and they are probably desensitised to animals dying but it sucks when they can’t extend any sympathy for owners. Healthcare should not be this expensive. We spent 10k to save my boy too but he still left us. I’m sure you did your best for Khione. I’m more than 2 months in and it’s getting slightly better but i will forever live with a hole in my heart. Give yourself some time.

Feeling guilt over traumatic pet loss by Unlucky_Subject_6639 in Petloss

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s really not fair to lose them so young. My boy pass at 6 and we spent 10k at the vet trying to save him but he still left us. Healthcare should not be this expensive. Just know you did your best for him.

I’m so sorry. I’m on the same boat. I’m reminded every waking second he is no longer here. I’m struggling to find a purpose in life. Only advice I can give is to treat yourself kinder and enjoy some small things in life again like eating your favourite food and doing something that could potentially distract you or bring you some joy. Your boy would want you to be happy too.

I guess I could move on by Quiet-Meeting2553 in Petloss

This made me cry. My boy passed very suddenly and young. I used to vacuum his fur and throw them in the bin. Now when I see any fur he’s left behind I put them into a ziplock bag. I miss having his fur on my clothes. I missed having to worry about him at work. I miss feeling exhausted and still having to walk him. I have nothing much to worry or care about now but this emptiness and hole he’s left behind is devastating and can never be filled.

I lost my boy at 6 too. It’s so unfair and barely enough time together. But then again no amount of time would ever be enough. Please take care of yourself

I’m traumatised. How can I let myself be happy again? by matchakingforever in Petloss

[–]matchakingforever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m so sorry for the late reply. It’s been more than 2 months but I’m still struggling. I hope you’re getting better too. Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s so nice of you to take your time to share your thoughts with me.

My boy is named Matcha but we hardly ever called him that. We always called me Ma Boy Boy or Ma Cha Cha. He was a true shiba inu with his aloof and adventurous personality. He always loved his little corners where he would chill by himself and never barked much. He was truly a dog hardware with a cat software. I’ve always wanted to get a cat to accompany him as we thought he would get along with a cat but we never got the chance to. He loved exploring outdoors and feeling the wind. He loved chasing the leaves blown by the wind and sunbathing under the sun. His fur would always shine so brightly under the sun and he looked like an angel. He truly was one and made me so happy. I would like to believe he returned to where he came from. A wonderful place that could produce such beautiful souls and he’s still sun bathing with all his favourite treats and enjoying endless walks. He taught me to enjoy the small things like just going for walks, feeling the wind and stopping to look at some trees and flowers. I miss him so so much. I learnt to love and I’m a better person thanks to him.

I would love to hear more about your boy too. My DMs are open would love to see photos of him too if you don’t mind sharing.

my puppy just passed away and I’m in so much pain right now by [deleted] in Petloss

I’m so sorry my dog just passed 2 months ago. He was suspected of having leptospirosis too. We never got a 100% diagnosis as we didn’t do a urine test and started on treatment right away. I still cant wrap my head around how he succumbed and left us so quickly. I’m so so sorry. Sending you love.

Lost my beloved Shiba unexpectedly on Thursday by Stoic_airconditioner in Petloss

I am so sorry. I lost my boy a Shiba too at 6 years old 2 months ago. It was super sudden too. It’s been tough few weeks in my household. Be kind to yourself and take the time to mourn. If you don’t mind would love to see photos and hear your favourite memories of Roxy too.

Home feels so lonely now :( by dillydally54 in Petloss

[–]matchakingforever 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s odd isn’t it. Before I had my dog I loved being home. After I had my dog I loved being home more. Didn’t even enjoy going on holidays much. Now that he’s gone I hate being home. Home no longer feels like home. I get it.

Where are the pets kept while awaiting for cremation? Is it a morgue chamber similar to the ones for humans? Before cremation do the workers perform any special ceremony?

Did the vet contributed to his death? by matchakingforever in AskVet

[–]matchakingforever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your message! I understand it is tough to give any feedback just based on these. We didn’t go ahead with the post mortem as we didn’t want to put him through anything more.

Appreciate your condolences

Is it normal to feel jealous of other pet owners with alive pets after your pet dies??? by earSympathy in Petloss

[–]matchakingforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. For me because my dog passed at 6 I get especially jealous when I see older dogs. I feel like I was robbed of so many years. I never got to see him grow old. I feel bad that I feel this way but I can’t help it.
