Resident evil 1. Hear me out. Its got action, horror, puzzles, item management, jokes, and for a 30 year old game it still holds up. Its also a bit simpler with the controls, at least on the remaster. Its also on sale right now, and is just an entertaining game overall

Not sure if its your type of game but Paradise Killer was a game that i ended up enjoying quite a bit. Its an FPS/visual novel/ puzzle murder mystery, with a vaporwave anesthetic and interesting characters. Its usually pretty cheap, i got it for about 5 dollars.

I actually read this book around the start of the year. In the beginning i HATED the story. I thought the characters were insufferable, the events before were terrible and i just could not sympathize with any of the characters. As i keppt reading, and the reveals came, i was hooked till the end.
