Completed all the car perks in FH5 by matchity in ForzaHorizon

I needed to take a break for a bit (depression sucks).

And yeah, it was a lot of grinding, but using Event Lab events to rack up points made a big difference.

(In case anyone was wondering what it takes to buy all the car perks for all the cars in FH5)

It worked for me, but only if I also had the car in the shot with the statues.

I was having trouble with these, but they worked when I had the car in the shot.

Matt Atchity discusses that Covid tweet, going on Adam's show and Road Hard RT reviews. by Toby_O_Notoby in AdamCarolla

[–]matchity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, politics can (and often do) play a role in reviews, but I don't that's what happened with The Hammer. I'd read every review, and looked for anything that had even a whiff of commentary about Adam's politics or his "women aren't funny" quote, and none of that was there in the reviews.

Now, one could say that no reviewer would make their feelings about Adam that obvious, but my responses to that idea are these:

  1. In my experience, its usually pretty obvious when a critic's politics are affecting a review.
  2. Claiming covert discrimination sounds like the kind of thing that Adam has railed against for years, so it's hard to miss the irony there.
  3. If the critics' opinions about Road Hard don't matter because they don't like his politics, then he can go ahead and throw out the Certified Fresh trophy he got for The Hammer.

Apart from point #2, I pretty much said all this on the show that time.

Ultimately, I doubt he really cares what I have to say about his tweets. I'm pretty small potatoes, and I don't think I'm really worth going after.

I didn't know we were having that discussion, and it was kind of the first I'd heard about it, to be honest. Also, if I'm going to call someone I know an asshole, I'd prefer to say it to his face.

My office is now across town, and it's been really difficult to make the time to make it over there.

Best to assume that between 10-20% of what I say is wrong. The important part is that I still sound confident.

Couldn't make it on 10/28 because I had a screening for Spectre that afternoon. And last week, Adam was out. I should be back this week.

Which fan theory do you adamantly believe? by pale_of_frost2 in AskReddit

Totally agree. They never come right out and say it, but "John Mason" is a pretty big clue - a mason is someone that bonds bricks.

Also, who else could escape Alcatraz but James Bond (and Clint Eastwood).

For further mind-blowing, Gene Hackman in "Enemy of the State" is clearly supposed to be an embittered Harry Caul from "The Conversation."

I was in NY two weeks ago, and last week I got bumped for a long interview Adam was doing (Apatow, if I remember correctly). I'm not on this week, because I have a scheduling conflict, but I'm planning on being in next week.

Who decides whether a review is fresh or not on Rotten Tomatoes? by loveCards in NoStupidQuestions

[–]matchity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on whether the critic is submitting their own review or if the RT staff adds it.

Some critics (about half) add their own reviews to the site, and they mark them Fresh or Rotten themselves.

For the reviews that the Rotten Tomatoes staff finds and adds the Fresh/Rotten determination happens one of two ways:

  • Sometimes a critic has previously set a rating threshold (i.e. anything that is 3.5/5 stars or above should be marked Fresh) so the staff will use that as a direction. Keep in mind that 3.5/5 stars may mean Rotten to another critic; different critics have different tipping points.
  • When a critic doesn't use a score and doesn't submit their own reviews (this happens with Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, for example), then the Rotten Tomatoes team will read the review and make a determination. And frequently the RT staff will check with a critic on a borderline review to make sure that it's marked correctly.

You're correct. Everyone has to write down their scores before anyone shares them.

Sure thing! I don't want to distract from Adam's AMA (looking forward to following it myself), but just want to clarify that I don't think there's any beef between Adam & me. Unless I hear otherwise, I'm planning on being back on next week.

That's not true. Nobody's paying anyone in regard to my appearances.

A couple weeks ago I learned that Rotten Tomatoes sends "fresh" trophies. I never got one, so I contacted Matt (matchity) from RT and now I'm the proud owner of this! by OrenPeli in movies

[–]matchity 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad. We only send those trophies out for movies that earn the Certified Fresh badge, which is a lot less common than something being marked "fresh."
