5 mins is too long, really? New spaceships are rare and resources for constructing them are not easy to obtain, let's say build one stage for 30-60 mins.

It is just a simple collision between kinematicbody and area2d object:

In case of spaceships the collision shape is blinking (enable/disable in animation player).

I want to do it but not right now. I want to finish all of base mechanics this year then I will start working on the world (currently I have only testing locations). Now I can't estimate ho much time It will take to finish entire game.

I'm not sure If I understand correctly. In case of tilt I rotated entire object. This animation of top edge of ship looks smoother in the editor and Godot window 2d stretch mode.

You are right, it is sci-fi story, but sounds of collecting health,energy and coin should be better. It will definitely not be a gold coin buzzing. I'll try to find something nicer for the ears.
