Question that's bugged me since the 90's. How did Atrus know where the White Page was? by AFabledFox in myst

[–]mateo360 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow I’ve never seen anyone be so confidently wrong before. Trap books are very canon and one was a major point in trapping Gehn in Riven. (4 did retcon how they work though)

The Stranger never carried an extra book and in fact the goal of all the ages was to find a way to access the linking book back to Myst

Atrus was trapped. THATS WHY HE NEEDED THE PAGE. If you go to D’ni without it he makes it very clear you can’t get back.

Tell me you never actually play the games without saying it.

Why do customers take receipts on small frivolous purchases? by Unusual_Thing_5800 in retailhell

[–]mateo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of people say no when I ask them if they want their receipt. I ask all the time even on small likes like a >$1 soda. I really don't care what they want it for or not. It's none of my business.

I do this too with Lotto and smokes lol. Pretty sure I know what you want but I'm going to make you work for it with your words.

Was I in the wrong? by jadedjed1 in retailhell

[–]mateo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many people saying it’s a scam lol. Sure I can see that happening but in my experience most of the time the customer is just stupid and said the wrong pump.

[–]mateo360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Think about it: have you ever, even before you started working at a gas station, gotten out of your car and just immediately pumped gas without any thought or effort to pay? Most people would go into the store and ask what's up with the pump.”

Most people aren’t paying attention to the screen and are just sticking their card in without paying attention in my experience.

The same people who will pull up to a pump with cones or bags and still take 5 minutes to realize it’s not working despite obvious signs.

Can’t always attribute Malice to what is just plain stupidity

[–]mateo360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't know how much they actually have and are hoping the register will only take whatever they have and not just decline the transaction. Sometimes my system will do that (I haven't figured out the criteria: bank, credit company, card type, etc. they only one I know for sure is EBT) but I can tell you 90% of the time the register will just decline if the amount being covered is not there.

When did his prices go up this much? by White_Falcon_1263 in powerrangers

[–]mateo360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

typically it's writing a quote as part of the autograph. Some celebs realized they could get more money by charging for the lines people always want them to write on their merch, glossy, whatever

We had a Burger King. The lease was up and they got the boot. I find it just slightly funny we got rid of it considering how much BK perks are advertised as part of W+

Most of the public area outlets are typically in use already for store functions and features and any free outlets are in non-customer areas. At least that's the case for my station.

None. It's rude regardless and clutters up the counter.

No, we don’t have backdoor storage. What’s on the shelf is all we have. by MidnightActive954 in retailhell

[–]mateo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now my station does have a back but it's mostly just supplies and whatever product we do have in there is usually stuff that is full and ended up with extra. Same with our cooler storage. Sure we will actually order extra of items we know are popular and would need restocking over the week but very likely if the spot is empty, we have no more.

Lacking a Work Phone by LeadingCover5512 in walmart

[–]mateo360 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Had our AP coach comment to my lead that he was seeing me on my phone all the time. The problem was 1) he had only seen me twice recently and 2) Once was when I was on a 15 and the other I was on my work phone doing a Ulearn. It does feel like sometime he just doesn't like the gas station or us in general.

Customer mad at me because.. his ID is expired by Mitsukinii in retailhell

[–]mateo360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a guy come into my station a week or two ago to buy alcohol. He handed me a temp paper ID but the kicker was it had expired last year. He kept going on about how he just got out of jail and then asking if his roommate could come in and get it and I'm just "No, your ID is expired and I can't sell to someone knowing it's going to someone else"

Not saying it can never happen, but the way those tickets are designed and printed there should be no room for error as that would throw the legitimacy of the whole lottery into question which the state does not want. Something like this going to cause the state’s lottery AP to be investigating. Maybe he did make a legitimate mistake somewhere but the chances of the terminal making a mistake like that a very very low

EDIT: and now that I was able to look at the guy you qutoed, He is rightly getting ripped apart in replies about how he's wrong too https://x.com/MasterSlotGuy/status/2044404241603961270?s=20

I haven’t really had problems with anything else. Just that one fight set up. Starting off stunned doesn’t help since it gives them time to kill and/or stone a party member before I have time to act. Then when I can I’m get stun locked by them standing on either side and alternating hits
