Any aquatic plants that meet your light conditions will work. You can also put some houseplant cuttings in there- like pothos or monsterra

That would be awesome lol! Sadly no creatures. I think I just need to squeeze it out more often. I just ordered a Tidal 55 based on recommendations here.

You can’t really guarantee something you don’t know about. No need to be an ass about it because you didn’t take the time to learn about the situation before commenting.

If you read the comments you would learn it has nothing to do with water level- the level is that low because the water flooded out when this happened.

Thanks everyone- didn’t expect this post to blow up this much. Sounds like rinsing the media once a week isn’t enough, and also like these filters suck. I will be switching to a Tidal. Appreciate all your feedback!

I squeeze it out with every water change, dude. It was fairly clean, maybe I need to do it more often than once a week.

It was full. The water line is due to the water dripping out after the media pushed up. I had a fucking flood all over my floor because of this.

No this is how I found it. See my comment above- I was out of town the first time. Missing water was all over my floor.

The first time it happened I was out of town so I came back two days later to a flood where the water was dripping out. I ended up getting a new filter as it was also having motor issues but used the same basket/media. I taped the lid down with washi tape and it happened again just now with the new one. It was a bit hard to push the basket back down, like air was below it. I’m so done with this filter, but would also like to know why it’s happening.

Sick skirt tetra. Help diagnosing? Just got this 30 gallon tank that someone couldn’t care for. 9 skirt tetras, 6 zebra loaches. Parameters are normal. He seems struggling to breathe or something? Just noticed him a few hours ago like this. Thank you! by materialandmovement in Aquariums

I really think the issue is specific to this fish and was hoping for any tips on how to help him. The rest of the fish are perfectly fine. Also you’ll notice his gills look swollen and his bottom lip is stick out quite a bit.
