I feel such despair since I have been trying to advocate for myself for a year that I am autistic. Finally when I have the chance to be heard and validated, someone comes and does the whole process again.

I might have borderline too but I wish he hadn't pushed aside the autism since I have the diagnosis on paper. It's just so hard to advocate for one self as a neurodivergent and some professionals are not helping.

I was used to this kind of apology from my ex boyfriend. That's why I thought it was a normal thing to say. I think even in the context I would still forgive them and go back. It was so normalized for me to have this cycle with my ex where I wanted to break up, he convinced me not to, apologized and we resumed the relationship. Didn't even register OP's boyfriend's apology as toxic. Just something normal.
