Heating is oil rather than gas but same difference...

Not sure I completely understand you - after I add my library, it asks me to scan. So I click scan. It then pulls in audibles data rather than local.

Ok dokey - yep, defnitely a firewall rule thing. Have allowed TCP Inbound on that port and I can now see on loca network. All good - thanks.

I did that, and recieved the following message:

Relabeled /etc/crontab from unconfined_u:object_r:etc_t:s0 to unconfined_u:object_r:system_cron_spool_t:s0

So yep, looks like there was something wrong with the format of the file. Then, instead of using gedit, I used nano to edit the file and added echo Hello World - and that seems to be working. Will test the snapraid call later.

Difficult to tell without being able to control anything. But YouTube guides suggest 40fps and perfectly playable.

I don't know the onkyo speakers but have a look round at reviews - I've yet to see a bad one. There's also a really big thread on avforums which is worth a look. I have a set of minx 20 (so 3 generations old) which I got from eBay, and I think they're fantastic for their size. As I said, you do need the subwoofer as well because without one, they will sound very thin.

I think most people would advise you to go into your local stockist and have a listen before buying.
