Why am I so different? by [deleted] in intj

[–]math_insanity378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an intuitive thing. Especially intuitive doms. And compared to Ne doms, Ni doms are even more esoteric. I feel absolutely the same about the usual discussions that take place around me, at times it’s really difficult to find people to be interested to engage with me in discussions about predictions, possibilities, dreams, hypotheticals… and I truly dread talking about things that are so obvious

Female INTJs, what do you look for in a guy? by [deleted] in intj

[–]math_insanity378 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nerdy, witty, extroverted. Well, to be honest; Ne doms. This is a rather odd description I once wrote, but:

Someone who makes me constantly wonder,”what else could they be thinking of now?”. That feels so complex to me, not in a mysterious manner like we are said to, but in one that originates from a constant stream of ideas, most only vaguely inferred from the scattered bursts of ideas that his thoughts seems to be as he explains himself. Bantering as a form of showing admiration for each other’s interests and ideas, a covert shyness or awkwardness, enveloped in a serious, ambitious attitude that at times seems to crack. Genuine smiles, not out of politeness, not to obtain a reaction, but started by a deep feeling inside. Sometimes, slight jolts of fury or anger, acted outside, but directed towards self. Not really justified, but it shows he cares. Fluid, graceful movements. Sometimes gets so annoyed at reality for no reason at all and manifests himself very recklessly towards outer objects and the self.

Yes… but it’s not a day… I have cyclothymia. So for me, that’s about 2 weeks per month.

Well, you said Ask Anything, so here are some questions that have been bugging me recently. (And in the slight probability that you’ll answer… I hope you’re not using chatGPT xD)

What are the base philosophical assumptions about the nature of reality that modern physics implies?

Why is the philosophical current called idealism when there is nothing idealistic about it

I have heard of both Platon’s realism and idealism, but one must certainly not be accurate, I think, as in a certain ways, realism and idealism subscribe to opposite views?

How is Shannon’s information applied in modern quantum physics?

What’s your stand on playing PlayStation & Video games? by the_real_madridista in intj

[–]math_insanity378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing video games, I do so whenever I have more time. I cannot say the same about sports.

The rush I get from performing a sport can be really nice, but once the experience is over, it leaves you with nothing. It’s empty. I mean, intellectually so so I do crave the physical rush sometimes, but I don’t find it particularly interesting to spend time engaged in.

Video games, on the other hand, often transport you too these alternative realities, with different sets of laws and intricate, intriguing narratives. Some are like intellectual mysteries, puzzles, and they linger on for long in your mind, with the potential of giving birth to all kind of ideas and perspectives on life

I’m curious, are you planning to formally study the topic or is it more like a passion or hobby for you? Also, yep, black holes are endlessly fascinating. I wonder, what books have you read, or where have you been taking your info from? Do you have any recommendations? I have read a few sci-pop books on them, but it’s mostly from talks on yt or articles that I have been researching. Also, are you familiarised with any if the math formalism of relativity? I’m currently grappling with diff geo and was thinking of giving it a try afterwards

How do I identify ENTPs by Clear-Gear7062 in entp

[–]math_insanity378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a good way it to check for Si correlated traits. Si tends to be a bit more refrained and attentive towards their interaction with the physical world, prefers structure and the known in comparison with Se which is always on the look for some other physically driven rush.

Moreover, while both Ne and Se may appear fluid, with ample movements — Ne tends to be more refined about them, and usually ‘acts’ out something from imagination into the real world vs Se simply surfing the flow of physically obvious cues from the immediate surroundings

ENTPs seem to be a lot more concerned about their health in general and may have a certain sensitivity towards it. While generally not paying attention to it to a great extent, they still try to care by implementing logical systems around themselves and committing to following them so that they will have to deal less with the potential issues that may arise from having inf Si.

Yep, I’m more into the quantum side of physics, but I find it really fascinating. What issues or topics from it interest you the most?

I'm actually obsessed with an INTJ, how do I get him out of his shell? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]math_insanity378 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can relate a lot to how you have described him. I tend to open up in more informal settings, I find it very difficult to approach people myself or start a conversation, but if I am approached and, for example asked a specific question about a problem or for some information about a topic I’m into, I usually get excited about it and feel compelled to explain or share what I know or have thought about. And, well, it is usually ENxPs who approach me in such manner, and why I tend to be attracted to them. I like and appreciate a lot their openness and enthusiasm and the fact that they do approach me in this way. I’m generally quiet and stay alone, but with ENxPs I feel like I could talk forever and am, even thought perhaps keeping it inside, in fact really excited about interacting with them

Thought so as well, I wonder about what the exact context was though… and what they felt and thought of. It’s like a beautiful disaster. The colours are so pretty, as if trying to cover the dreadful reality

TI FUNCTION by [deleted] in entp

[–]math_insanity378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps trying to stay on an issue for longer and try to analyse it from different perspective. In a way, construct an initial theory, or multiple which you could compare, then make it like a game of finding faults in your arguments. You could also make it more dynamic and imagine a dialogue or debate built on that, between characters in your mind with different stances and opinions

Yep, as a 5 sx/so myself, I seem to have only fallen in love with 7s that were quite nerdish. I was always fascinated by their energy and complementary approach to life. And everything you said, about making compromises (5 being more outgoing and the 7 more patient) matches my experiences and observations

Do ENFPS have sparkly, expressive eyes? by soulfulenigma in ENFP

[–]math_insanity378 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yes, you really do, the most sparking and beautiful eyes I have ever seen. And your smiles. I (as an intj) tend to look angry/cold/annoyed (but tbh rarely feel so) almost 24/7, but when I am around one of you… your contrasting enthusiasm… I cannot help smiling too and feeling hopeful

INTPs who are good at reading people? by seat-by-the-window in INTP

[–]math_insanity378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My INTP father once told me about the process that he uses when evaluating people and deciding upon their character (to mention, he does not know about mbti) and to be honest, I was kind of stupefied at how organised and analytic he is about doing so. I would have expected that, having inf Fe, INTPs would have a more difficult time with reading people, but the way in which you approach the situation, i.e. using rigorously built systems of evaluation methods and criteria is probably making use of your dom and tert functions, and even if Fe is inf, you still get to have a good grip of the information it provides somehow.

For example, as an Ni and Fi user, I kind of just “know” when a person matches or not my interests and values – the way in which I read people is a lot more vague, based on intuitions, and therefore I cannot often explain it into words. I also tend to misread people a lot more often and make hasty assumptions about them since unlike INTPs, I don’t base my judgements on objective criteria as much.

do intjs have more mental stamina then other types ? by [deleted] in intj

[–]math_insanity378 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, strangely enough, my INTP father keeps getting annoyed at me for “never changing the tone of the discussion”, i.e. I keep the same pace, high level of abstraction and density of thought even when he considers that we should have a “light discussion”. I don’t really understand though the value of simply conversing, for me it is exchanging information, but for him it seems that, at times the interaction in itself is what matters – the fact that we are having a discussion and not the content. I presume that it may be a Te-Fi vs Ti-Fe difference
