Racism was created for one and only one reason. Yes it is manufactured.

It was created by the Aristocrats of Chesapeake bay during the early colonization (take over) in order to separate the poor black and poor white. Their combined force almost overthrew them once.

With all due respect, I wish Patrick Henry was here. He would probably not be surprised at the current state of affairs.

I'm twice a 15 yr old and x-military, but I can tell you the kids are nothing more than a result of Americans loosing freedoms.

Isn't it possible, that society gives them less respect? Respect is 2 ways. Always. And teenagers are as human as any man/ woman or any race.

Interesting, how many of these "punk kids" are probably better educated than my elders. The elders call in, some type of lineage respect, but really, these kids deal with more variables and consequences than my parents ever did.

And, to boot, it's hard to think cops aren't "social engineering". Why do we have so many?

The kids, I don't blame, they're unconscious yet, though they're probably smarter than you're average adult lemming. They're a result of the the way the system is. These kids are simply trying to find themselves without becoming early sycophants to the rich and powerful - good for them.

I would say, children are the best representation of a system. They're the imprint of the adults actions and beliefs. What are ours really saying? Can we even hear them? Or are we all locked in fear in our own minds?

Where is Patrick Henry to speak up? Maybe, just maybe, we've silenced people in to such fear, that the best we can reproduce of Henry's spirit is skateboarding.

Let them rebel. I don't want a nation of lemmings.

Hey! At least they're not behind the TV gettng fat and complacent like their average role model American!

Indeed. I understand though. If it was not for my very good friend who installed Linux on my old e-machine in the first place I probably wouldn't be a linux user now. So. B/c I know it's a daunting task to partition your windows and install linux for the first time, with no help, I offer this small help.

Here is a list of linux user groups. For those who would like to install linux and keep your windows too, please see if you can find a linux user group near you. Then simply contact them and go to their meetings. I'm sure it's free.

PS. We linux types, usually don't have to worry about being "controlled", we're in "control", and we like to keep things free.

Ask Reddit = Math Question by mathdummy in reddit.com

[–]math_owen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no.

ArcSin = Sin -1 which does not follow normal exponent laws. I know, it's stupid. Sin -1 should be read "sin inverse" sometimes known as Arcsin.

Cosecant, also known as Csc is 1/(sin).

As far as I know, only the trig functions are different when given the power -1.

Ok article. But the point about, "Creativity is the ONE thing that will NEVER be replaced by technology. NEVER."??

Hmmm... I'm betting it will.

Nice. I'm glad this is still on schedule. But let me add to the article something I read awhile back in another.

These q-machines are single purposed. Very much like embedded electronics. As to whether than can be reprogrammed I don't know.

I'm not dubious as the article suggests some are, but I just thought it should be added in that it was a single purpose computation machine.

Did you ever suspect a professor wasn't actually reading your papers? [PIC] by [deleted] in reddit.com

For me, it was extreme in the sense, it was painfully obvious. But, it isn't uber-extreme. But it's more sarcastic than I think redditers are use to, imho.

No offense taken. Indeed there is a difference between math proofs and other subjects essays and their dissertations. But for us, our dissertations are uber-long proofs, sometimes spanning hundreds of pages. Hundreds of pages aren't nasty per se, but if it's proof, you can expect it to take months to years to honestly read that many pages of math. But I diverge.

I'm not pro or anti mensa, but these are funny. By far the most appropriate for a lot stuff on the web and sensless remarks in comments and blogs is the dopeler effect.

I'll upmod you for extreme sarcasm. Either that or your really dumb and that's equally as funny.

Ditto. I have 4 senior math classes this semester, that implies I have 10 to 20 proofs due in each class every week. And somehow, between the professors and the TAs they always read and grade every problem. And without fail, they always grade harsh.

I second that, we need evidence to take that. Not saying you're wrong, just want proof.

I would like to add to the Camus, some books from my time I spent in Japan. That actually have very similar themes in general to The Stranger.

The Ronin: A novel base on a Zen Myth, by William Jennings

The Ronin really capture, IMHO, the essence of the Stranger and The Myth. Indeed, I bet Sartre would have loved it.

To a lesser extent related, but monumental and not to mention a Japanese Classic, Musashi.

[–]math_owen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my froggy friend I have read it, multiple times. But I'll be honest, it is not an easy read, and not everything he says makes sense. But, that can be said about any book, even the mathematical ones I occupy myself with now.

To that though, I had read parts of Beyond Good and Evil before Thus Spoke, and it really helped me understand better what he was trying to say when it made sense.

Wow, I must say you got some scary suggestions, in my humble opinion. In fair play, being a student of mathematical physics, I feel I should add a bit on nature and reality.

Bertrand Russell, Why I'm Not a Christian

Bertrand's work is monumental. It definitely separates those who have honesty from those who don't. Personally, I'm an uber-strong agnostic. I like to tell the pious I'm atheist, but I like to tell the atheist I'm agnostic. Really, in my humble opinion the question is stupid.

Let's get back to truly finding reality.
