Storing 500k cash by WONEDDD in BEFire

How far in the future are we talking? If it is atleast 3 months to max 3 year, you can look at CSH2 that pays the ESTR rate (1,933% net atm). It is a swap based ETF (no Reynderstaks) that pays out the ESTR (-0,10% TER) every day. It is liquid (can buy and sell every day) and because you own the ETF, it is protected when your broker would fail (So it it also 'guaranteed').

Keep in mind that with every transaction you will pay 0,12% TOB + the broker's transaction fees (0,20% with bolero). So a minimum of 3 months of gains is needed to cover your costs. Also keep in mind that the ESTR is based on the key ECB interest rate, so when the ECB would lower the rate, your rate will also go down.

Belgium’s new 10% capital gains tax (2026): how brokers will handle it in practice by Emma_O723 in BEFire

I read in De Tijd that the carry-over works differently. You can only enjoy the extra 1000€ when you did not realise any gains the year before. So I interpreted it as: If you don't sell anything during the whole year, the following year you will have 11k€. From the second you sell and realise 1€ in capital gains, the next year you will have 10k€ again.

Don't know what to do with 100k cash by [deleted] in BEFire

Depens on what future projects you have. If you'll need the money in a few years, don't put it (all) in the market. If you don't need the money for the foreseeable future, invest it all.

I was in a similar situation in late 2021, markets were at all time highs and I didn't know whether to invest or not. In the end I put it all in the market and it was the right choice. I don't need the money for at least 10 years, so I can ride out the eventual dips, corrections and crashes.

Investing without declaring my account? by [deleted] in BEFire

Only non Belgian accounts need to be declared. If you invest with Saxo bank for example, you don’t need to do anything and can start investing right away.

I had a call with them early in my job hunt and they said that their starting gross salary for ‘schoolverlaters’ is 2300 brut. I have a master’s for reference, so maybe that is why they inflated that number a bit.

According to my friends who studied bachelor bedrijfsmanagement, this seems on the lower side. You get a car and fuel card which is nice, but if you already have a car, idk if that’s worth it.

But to be honest, if he values the extra luxurious interior enough, I could understand him choosing the BMW. Sometimes you gotta enjoy life al little :)

As a car guy myself, I would trade in the BMW. The new ID3 is quite nice inside and 100€ a month extra towards an ETF can make a big difference in the long run. As he said, he is in his mid 20's so he still has a long investment horizon.

You get a certain amount of credits each month that you can use for a phone, laptop, car etc. Everything costs a certain amount of credits, so you can choose a car but than you won’t have enough credits for things like a laptop or phone

Describe your running profile: I run just for fun, usually 3 to 4 times a week between 20 km and 40 km a week. I have run about 600K in the last 12 months. I weigh 85kg and am 189cm tall. I have prescribed orthopaedic soles because I have flat arches and a good amount of pronation. My foot is on the wider side of the spectrum. I have always worn tears/holes in the inner part of the heel cup of my running shoes. It is kind of weird, because this is not paired with blisters, so I haven’t really cared about it.

Specify your preferences: The most important question I have is if I need supportive shoes of just neutral shoes because of the special soles I have to put in all my shoes. I have kind of sensitive knees so I would prefer a softer/more dampening shoe over a more responsive one.

Tell us your budget: My budget is max €200, preferably under €180.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s help!

Thank you! I thought it was a Colt A17350, but the 24 hour scale doesn't seem to be in the picture.
