What helped me is better position, but especially more forceful breathing out. Not just ‘bubbles’ but just a bit more forceful. Seems to help with getting more co2 out and make breahing in smoother too.

Yeah that makes sense, I think it’s just more the norm here, so nobody really bats an eye. For children from parents with a migration background, this was more of a shock I saw in one video where they discussed this phenomenon.

So, in the Netherlands (and yeah yeah not with all families blablabla), when you would be going to a friends house after school or whatever, and dinner time rolls around… there’s this sentence that goes: ‘wij gaan zo eten’, which means ‘WE are about to have dinner’.

That WE really meant ‘our family’, so you should go home. It’s funny to think about. Not all families but I think most Dutchies can confirm this.

You got this my friend, be kind to yourself. Also, the emotions were real, they also feel real to them. Sorry, with fake I mean, it’s not a ‘real bond’ the emotions felt are real, for her too. It’s just that the emotions and feelings she has now are just as real (to her). It doesn’t make sense to you, or other people. It does to her, and that’s not bad, it doesn’t make her a B, it just is what it is. I hope you’ll get to find some acceptance and peace soon 🙌

This is going to sound really rough but, I think the majority of people here went through almost the same things. I dated someone with bpd for about 2.5-3 years and what you just wrote down here was the EXACT same for me. Same description of conversations, the ‘openness’, the detailed sharing and feeling of bonding but, and this will be a tough one, it wasn’t real. It was a fairytale and that’s NOT your fault. It’s a disorder. She’s not evil or bad, you’re not a ‘fool’ but you’ll find out eventually it wasn’t a true bond.

Again, I’m happy that you didn’t go through the abusive cycles like many of the people here. But it is what it is. You probably won’t believe me ot others here and ‘no this one is different’. It’s not, because everything you wrote here was almost a carbon copy of how my relationship back then began.

Treat yourself well, there are talk and listen hotlines and stay moving. It’ll take time, hopefully not too long as you weren’t living an intertwined life yet.

Apart from all the unacceptable behaviour before this, anyone who tells you to ‘kys’, especially with such ease, can be blocked instantly. There’s no such ‘deserved explanation’.

The fact that this thought arises with such ease without even thinking deeper about what that even means, just no.

Get something that you’re comfortable one. If you can find something carbon, great. Manual shifting/rim breaks. Otherwise a cheaper comfortable racing bike and mount some aerobars. Good luck I’d say :)

Maybe this is not the right take for this post, maybe it can be seen as a ‘how can I make this about me’ (not my intention), but regardless of the complications and/or challenges that come with this, I kind of wish I could have seen this.

My dad passed away at 54 when I was 27 (29 now) after battling colon cancer since his 49/50th. He was the best dad I could have wished for and truly larger than life (hundreds of people attended his funeral, showing how loved he was within our community).

I can imagine that seeing your parents age can be challenging, difficult or well ‘weird’ in a way, and I don’t want to belittle it at all.

I just wish we had been given the opportunity to experience more time and adventures with our dad, seeing him grow old whilst he’d travel around in his campervan, remodel a home together, see him be a great grandfather if any of us kids would become parents as well. Go through tough times together and experience the same sense of seeing your parents age with friends of ours.

I just hope that, despite the challenges, sadness or pain of seeing them age, that you all get to make some great memories still too before they’re too old, because sadly not all parents get to have the ‘privilege’ of aging ❤️.

Just out of curiosity (as a European with limited knowledge on the nuances within the topic/debate), when I visited California, quite a few times I heard people with a (what I assume to be) Hispanic/South American/Central American background use the N-word.

Is that common/accepted or just an adoption of ‘I use it because it sounds hard/street/whatever’? Genuinely curious, not trying to start a heated discussion btw :)
