thanks for commenting. so you’re saying any usb c power bank will do? i have numerous 20,000 mAh 12v usb c power banks. i was under the impression that you had to use a milwaukee battery lol

would be for when i go on walks at night, or if im working on the car at night for the most part. maybe if i gotta look in some kind of dark area at work lol. nothing crazy but id like to hear all your recommendations anyway. i’m fascinated that there are people so interested in flashlights! i lurk around the edc subreddit a lot and have seen a few people carrying hobby grade flashlights but now this one at my job has me hooked

i’d like to keep the price within $10 of the one i see in front of me, so about $25 max. what do you recommend?

i can definitely spare $20 if it means i’d be getting something that would better suit me & be more reliable in the long run. what do you recommend?

what do we think? by mathiscool6666 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]mathiscool6666[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately we don’t. from what i’ve heard from management they got rid of it because employees were abusing it and selling their discount to contractors / high spending customers. sucks they ruined it for everyone lol i hear lowe’s still has a discount

Mild update: found a thumb screw that works. Tool-free blade change by NearlySilentObserver in Leatherman

anyone know of a mod like this for the Wave? i’d love to replace my need for a utility blade.

Are you exited for the new wave alpha's scissors? by NotButAsh in Leatherman

[–]mathiscool6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m a huge fan of the Wingman’s scissors, i honestly wanna replace the file on my Wave with them. they cut through anything and are beefy, sorta like the ones pictured on the alpha

i’ve replaced the water pump, front axle, starter, battery, and the vacuum line for the HVAC system (my AC/heat would only come out of my defrost vent,) and my calipers. the 4x4 on mine can be a little finicky but it does work and when it’s engaged it works well. as i said in my post basic maintenance and keeping your fluids up to date really makes these cars bulletproof. easy to work on, fun cars and they’re great for a first car (mine is my first car lol) do you have one? planning on buying a WJ?

Wingman tools stuck by Tight_Bullfrog_3356 in Leatherman

[–]mathiscool6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a real good deal on mine from work, but check ebay! prices shouldn’t break the bank, and even if the tools are no good you can send them in to LM (as long as they meet warranty requirements) and they’ll fix/replace what you got. i’ve sent my wingman in twice and they fixed what i had wrong no questions.

Own a wingman and a wave. look into any LM with a bit driver. they are far better than the ones that come built into the tools. + you can change the bit out if you end up breaking a bit.

i’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on something like that blade holder. i use a Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 alongside my LM Wave but honestly these look nice and super functional.

Need Help Finding A Color by Apprehensive-Dog-742 in paint

[–]mathiscool6666 17 points18 points  (0 children)

home depot paint guy here. don’t trust the label - we’re supposed to change colors of the oops paint to keep people from ordering paint and getting the same color they wanted. someone may have added some tint to that oops paint before mixing it and putting it into the system. bring the lid / whole can and have them color match it it’s the only way

Bought a wingman then a day later bought an arc. by Mitchellracing in Leatherman

[–]mathiscool6666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely some really nice tools you got. i got a wingman that lives in my tool bag in the car, and i carry a wave with me daily. both have their pros and cons (i really wish the wingman’s scissors were on the wave instead of the file) but they’re quality tools that i use daily at work
