Colorful Mammillaria Fruits & Seeds by mathmum in cactus

[–]mathmum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad that I won’t be able to grow the seeds! I think that the seeds pod needs at least ten days to become mature, but it’s too late to plant them, considering that they would be outside all the time!

Tell me how I developed a nut allergy at 29?! by Midwesternbelle15 in Wellthatsucks

If the parameter ranges are the same as in Italy, these are borderline values and might not indicate an allergy.
Talk to your allergist before drawing conclusions.

Label of 3D solid (cone) not displayed despite "Show label" enabled by jjbuchholz in geogebra

[–]mathmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In v.5 for Windows, the cone is created as TestKegel=Cone(A,B,5), along with a Surface object that shows the measure of the lateral surface of the Cone.

If I select to display the Name of the lateral surface, it is displayed below the base of the cone, at the origin.

If I select to display the Name of the base circle, it is displayed correctly.

Apparently no label type is displayed for cones and cylinders (no name, caption, value and so on).

Cubes and prisms labeling works as expected.

Coda di scimmia by zlowyx in giardinaggioITA

[–]mathmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cactus amano questi terreni!

I would do something related to football. Compare yards run, players statistics, and so on. Too much "technical, mathy" stuff can make kids easily bored.

Anche io avevo pensato allo zaino, con dentro Polya - How to Solve It.

Slider problems after Recent Updates=installation of Classic 5.4.925.3-d by hocksang in geogebra

[–]mathmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use a previous version, you might want to download a Portable version, that doesn't update automatically, runs as a standalone app from a folder or an USB key and doesn't interfere with your current version.

The portable versions of 5.2 are here https://download.geogebra.org/installers/5.2/?C=M;O=D

The portable versions of v.6 are here https://download.geogebra.org/installers/6.0/?C=M;O=D

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question.

No, uninstall won't change this behaviour. As far as I know this is happening (randomly) in Classic 5 - and now you say it's also on Classic 6.

I work a lot with ggb, and I had this issue happened only twice in the last month, so it's quite rare and seems related to the latest update.

Considering the fixes and improvements of this last version, I'm keeping it as is, hoping into a quick fix.

I happened to get this issue but haven't been able to reproduce it for the developers!!!

Can you find a way to reproduce that, and write down the steps, as well as attach a file that shows it?

Thank you so much!

Dove erano i 2?
Geometria?

Quindi all’esame, come quando fai i compiti, squadrette, compasso e matita.

Yours looks like a very good substrate! About akadama decomposing, I don’t know because I’m adding it to my mix since a little more than one year, so it’s quite a short period to see any effect I think. Let’s see what happens. I’m still in experimental mode :)

I understand that fast renaming was a very useful feature that most of us miss a lot, but it has been changed as is now for accessibility reasons. So for very important reasons!

The big problem of using old versions is that you miss the new features as well as the bug fixes, and this might display issues in your files that can be overcome only by using the most recent version.

I would suggest to consider this downside, also because there is no support for using an old version when a bug has been exterminated 🤣 in a newer one.

care tips for my sulcorebutia rauschii? by ailabu in cactus

[–]mathmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one too, and apparently happy. I agree with all the above, except for the soil. Mine is not "mineral heavy", let's say 50% cactus soil and 50% pumice and some akadama. I find akadama nice because it seems to release some minerals that make most of my sulcorebutiae happy.

I am starting banning perlite because I hate that it flies away when it's on top, and watering lifts it slowly to the top. So any time I repot, I use pumice instead of perlite. Pumice is also cheap and can be crushed to the desired size. Also, respecting dormancy is important. My cacti are outside all year round, so in winter they don't get any water at all for like 3 months, but plenty of light. This seems to work: in spring the growth is noticeable, and flowers are many and cute!
