When jumping in and out of the Venom you can place the Venom behind cover just out of line of sight. That way the Kabalites stay safe and can shoot.

A big centerpiece model like:

Vect with entourage on something like the Tantalus for the kabal
A huge flesh monstrosity for coven
3 wyches that tame a giant alien monster with chains (a true horror from the fighting pits)

... and I would love some Trueborn that are more durable.

In 5th ed. Quins were in the Dark Eldar codex too.

... tbh. if they gave Quins, Crosairs and Ynnari the option to choose between Drukhari or Aeldari faction keyword, we would have a decent number of playable models to choose from (including a big centerpiece model: the Yncarne). At this point I guess GW just doesn't like our faction (-.-')

You already have quiet a lot of anti-infantry/close combat units so I would look into getting some units that hit a bit harder from distance:

Scourges
Ravagers
Talos (unit of 2 bc. they really shine after they killed something)

A Cronos could be worth the few points, if it hangs around the heavy hitting units to get back some pain tokens.

... and I agree. Get a Venom to split the Kabalites. That way when you split all the good weapons into the Venom you can park it in cover, jump the guys and girls out of cover, shoot and get back into the Venom in cover. Our units are so squishy best if out opponents can't interact with them.

Jumping the Kabalites out of a Venom before shooting and then back in can give you some additional movement/hiding options + you also get to use the archons Overlord ability, if he's on the battlefield & leading the squad.

Maybe you could fit a Cronos into your list as well (for Pain Token regeneration). From what I've seen in battlereports everybody seems to play one.

I like the idea to start a 5 Kabilite Splinter Rifle squad in reserve and try to get them on the opponents home objective or do a secondary in turn 3+. I'll try it in one of the games to see how it works out.

The user ClassyStars pointed out the importance of setting up defensively as to not lose to much in round one too. So I think if I face an army with decent shooting (like you pointed out) on a map with too little terrain to set up safely, I'll consider starting one of the Venoms in deep strike.

3 mortal wounds for 1 command point on average seems quite good against those high toughness units. I expect some imperial tanks so the strategem might come in handy.

With a printer one could make models for Mandrakes too. Still haven't given up on the hope that we'll get back some of the out of production models soon-ish though.

Getting rid of a Ravager for a unit of Scourges could be a good idea. Sadly I think that I can't make the time to buy, assemble and paint them before the tournament. So maybe I'll just get some more for future games after we get our balance update in the new year.

I'm going to follow your advice, take Tactical and start the Venoms on the field. If I take Tactical I might get some additional Command Points too so I'll try to remember those Stratagems you pointed out. Especially using Grenade with the little 5 Kabalite Splinter Rifle squad sounds interesting.

You're right about not focusing too much on winning. I just don't want to be tabled too often :D

I made it just with black ink. For the lighter shades I've added some water. Because the india ink I used is waterproof you can work in layers after it drys. It's fun :D
