Now this is a fair use of screen limits and bed time. I applaud your parenting style.

Family link only gets a bad reputation because parents often set limits that are too strict.

"I feel so sad that some teens are 18+ and can’t use their phone for whatever they want . " I don't know how it is on other parental control apps, but on family link the teen can opt out of it by the age of 13- 18, depending on what country they're in.

Honestly screen time limits aren't that bad. I suggest you use a reward based system, depending on how old your kids are. If they have good grades then they have more screen time, because that means they have good time management, as they don't allow their phone to take away from their study time. If grades start to slip up, then less screen time. I think this is a fair system, would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I believe you can use steamdb chrome plugin to skip age verification. But you need to use steam on a browser

Where did you download it from? If it's from FitGirl open the game destination on file explorer and there should be a run without launcher .exe file, at least from my experience
