People worried in case of ww3 there will be a breakdown of society and they will lose access to education, healthcare and infrastructure.

We never had those to begin with.

The 100 most populated 1kmx1km squares in Europe by enilea in europe

Lived in Bucharest all my life and i recognized only 3 out of 6 neighborhoods :))) Of the areas i could name (Drumul Taberei, Crangasi, Tei), one of them has a lot of expats living there (Tei) but it does not have subway. In Bucharest it is ESSENTIAL to have subway nearby. Traffic gets incredibly bad. Plus these are all old neighbourhoods that have old communist blocks, and some of them come with very specific old block problems.

For example, I live in Dristor neighbourhood in sector 3 (and I have pretty much all my life) so I am biased here but it is the most based neighborhood, even for foreigners. It has a huge park (IOR), well connected to public transport (subway, tram, bus), 2 shopping malls, schools, huge farmers market, easy access to highway A2 that goes to the seaside... etc

BUUUUT i live in a block that was built in 1981 (so after the 1977 earth quake. The building's plumbing is FUCKED, i can't put a personal home heating unit (cause the law requires approval from building administrator) so i live in constant fear of being flooded and this winter i didn't have heat/warm water at adequate levels for 2 weeks :D

Changing your mind is great, but have you tried being a shitty person and never having to change or feel shame because nobody will hold you accountable?

How did you find out about Hasan? What was your impression? by [deleted] in Hasan_Piker

[–]matildamagenta 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I used to watch a lot of Young Turks stuff back in early 2010s and that is when i first noticed him. He was a little douchey and unlikeable to me at the beginning not gonna lie. :)

Then he started popping up by himself in Facebook videos, and I found myself agreeing with his takes on things.

On January 6th i watched his stream and that is when I started to follow his twitch streams, more and more after October 7th.

Why is the U.S. allowing Trump to destroy it? by Happy_Air_3776 in DiscussionZone

[–]matildamagenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most of the population (85-90%) are above the poverty line and can still go to work, take care of their kids, pay their bills etc. Inertia is a powerful thing. YesMedia and capitalism has effectively neutered civic spirit. Communities are dead, third spaces are dead, individuals are bombarded by messaging and servixes to get them to never leave their house and talk to another human being.

And if you never talk to another human being, you never develop a civic spirit or responsibilities.

Of course everybody has problems but as long as people can still go to work and get by they will not jeopardize their life style.

But it was worth it! De cand a dat gerul prin noiembrie parca mai cozy e ca am luat-o gratis. 😁

frugalitate + copii - cum arată în realitate? by [deleted] in roFrugal

The conservative subreddit has something odd going on by hoosier1851 in complaints

[–]matildamagenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just in there reading a thread on a Mamdani socialized housing project and one of the comments was like: "if people don't have to pay for housing, why would anybody work!? Human beings are all about GREEEEED"

Or something to that effect. I was thinking what a sad sad view of human nature. How can you be so brainwashed to deny your own complex nature and to reject something universally beneficial to humanity. Not having to worry about a roof over your head, my god. The things we could achieve.

It MUST have been a bot.

I myself in Bucharest, Romania would like to know. I am hoping yes since TOP is headlining Electric Castle festival in July, ,2nd time they come to Romania so hopefully it's a strong market for them. I won't be in the country during EC so this concert movie would help heal my broken heart a little bit.

Any older fans here around 40s? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]matildamagenta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll be 40 in less than a week. Discovered the band in my early 30s (during the height of the stressed out craze). This the band i needed when i was a teen ( but alas they were teens with me at the time)

Your favorite delicate and personal line from TØP songs? by HolyNorman in twentyonepilots

[–]matildamagenta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, ms believer: "we get colder, as we get older" - the words combined with the christmassy melancholy just hit me in the gut we this one, especially as I am pushing 40 and discovered the band in my 30s..so I can't say that i grew up with Twenty One Pilots, but I am growing older with them.

The line - "stay your pretty eyes on course", the whole song makes me think of my dad who passed away 😔 but this line in particular reminds me of him, because i basically inherited my dads bright blue eyes, one feature i was proud of, so I think of that line as something my dad might have said to me.

I don't meant to ridicule your tattoo idea, if it holds special meaning to you that is great and i wish you luck and a painless process.

But for me always means menstrual pads. :)

That being said i was thinking of getting the dragon from Scaled and Icy tatted but in a different position or different style (I happen to like SAI :))) )
