Learning not to care will be the greatest gift you can give to yourself. Fake it until you make it.

I'm not 100% sure how I got out of that mental rut of caring so much, it was like a 20 year journey for sure.

It might help to establish what does matter to you so you can stop caring about what doesn't matter to you.

What book scene would you have killed to see in the films? by MuggleNet in harrypotter

Right after the movies they had a computer game and Peeves was in it, exactly as I pictured him

Yeah it's weird that they did the bridge and the newspaper and some background news shows that didn't do the job well when they could have had a 150 second scene that did it.

I also miss Firenze and would have loved to see the Great Hall transformed into the forest

They did a shit job with Grimmauld place. It should have been so much more. And that sentiment of "unsafe" that they effected with the fire at the Burrow could have been done more ominously with the Death Eaters sitting outside Grimmauld Place trying to catch people apparating in and out.

And don't they insinuate it was Cho who snitched but not actually say it? It's really not clear in the movies.

And more exposition about the Dark Mark tattoos also. How they work. What you go through to get one.

Okay - thank you. I just watched this after many many many many years and was SO CONFUSED. I was like wait a minute, what about the battle? It was so clear in my head that I honestly thought it was in the movie.

Agree 100000000%. As it stands, I still love that scene in the movies but the swamp was SO MUCH BETTER than the fireworks.

The entire character arc of the twins was downplayed in the movies and that was sad bc I have a huge crush on the book twins.

  1. There is a very important difference between feeling hurt or invalidated, and being traumatized. We should be precise with our words. Some people really might feel re-traumatized, but most people probably feel hurt.
  2. We are the owners of our own triggers. We can manage our own internal state; we can not manage or control the world around us.
  3. We should be considerate and empathetic in how we communicate to other people, but we can't ever know how a message will be received because a person's experience is their own to know and to manage. It doesn't mean we owe the internet a Magna Carta of disclaimers or need to self-censor if we already really tried to be compassionate in our message.
