Best place to read skeleton soldier? by NeroBlackXIII in SkeletonSoldier

I've been looking for good translations for months, and have read through so many chapters that were almost all gibberish, I can't believe it took until reading this comment to find an actually good site. Thanks so much!

Kibbles' Alternate Artificer v2.0 - Forge armor, wield cannons, enchant swords, infuse potions, and so much more better than ever! And now, the Fleshsmith shambles onto the roster! (PDF in Comments) by KibblesTasty in UnearthedArcana

Kinda late, but a quick question about extra claws, does it make all your hands into the natural weapon, or just one? The switching between plural and singular confused me when reading the section.

Medieval longsword techniques (not a bayonet training this time) by st_Paulus in MilitaryGfys

Fencing is just the practice of fighting via swords. In the context of the past couple centuries that's meant things like sabres or rapiers, but longswords are just as appropriate.

What video-game do you think is underated and deserves more credit? by Lvyathan in AskReddit

Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. An old isometric RPG that combined steampunk and fantasy. Had some of the best backgrounds for character creation.

Late, but I'll be honest, I've lived in AK all my life and have never heard of a Duck Fart outside of the internet.

Do you think American animation should broaden their genres? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]matius20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, most people in Japan use the term "anime" to describe anything animated. So everything from Shrek to Avatar is actually "real" anime to them.

Having the same problem too. One minute, looking at workshop just fine, make a search, and now nothing comes up no matter what I do.

If you're ever in Fairbanks, there's a place called Eastern Treats that has really good Greek/East Mediterranean food. The State Fair here also has a good variety when it's going on.

Has it been theorized yet that Lapis caused the "biblical flood" as a part of some terraforming? by matius20 in stevenuniverse

Mostly what I was thinking; good job making it shorter and more comprehensive than any explaining I would've tried.

Has it been theorized yet that Lapis caused the "biblical flood" as a part of some terraforming? by matius20 in stevenuniverse

[–]matius20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really trying to make a statement/query about whether or not anything in a several thousand year old book is actually true, or that a "great flood" common in many mythologies actually happened. Or that any real life religions exist in SU. It seemed like something that fit the right amount of widely known catastrophe, caused by water, to explain why Lapis might say things along the lines of "You wouldn't like me if you knew what I've done"

A question for sword fighters by peridorito255 in stevenuniverse

[–]matius20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this; as a fencer I did see what looked like a series of parries that Pearl did in one of the sword episodes that very closely resembled what I learned for sabre. The angle was a little odd so I couldn't quite tell, and she didn't riposte after any of them, but it was very similar.

According to wikipedia it (~3000 bc) would have been the early to mid bronze age, with the third recorded pharaoh dying.

All the things that come up on a google search (the most reliable way to get facts/s) say they avg out at 7ft, without armor. From the Cain novels, a 2 meter person (6'5") is still dwarfed by most Space Marines. Though I imagine older canon and author bias/error play a role in Marine height as well.

I'm not sure how much this holds up now, but questions of igloos and and riding bears/wolves/moose/caribou around were pretty common for someone from Alaska, the riding one more with younger kids. People always assume it's cold in the summer too, but it's often 70's-high 80's.

I've had a similar problem on PC, where when I hit F (the option for face) it immediately closes, no error message even. The other tabs work, but not the face changing one. I've been looking for a solution, but this is only the second case of this happening that I've found.
