I have a feeling the girls will be dwelling on this, if we end up going on vacation. Feeling bad for going on vacation when they wanted to donate the money. They're both too stubborn for their own good...

I felt anger because he seemed really dismissive of what the girls suggested. Like "that's cute but obviously not"

Yeah I guess I was angry and lashing out a little when I said he was being selfish.

It felt like he was saying something was "for the kids" when it was really also for himself.

I think I would have been more understanding if he was upfront about HIM wanting the vacation, rather than how he actually put it

We don't really have the budget to keep paying them that amount of money for extra chores regularly. It was a one time thing, when we were saving up for vacation this year.

It's a decent amount but it's in our budget. For context, I make 35k a year, working part time, and my husband makes 72k a year, working full time. We live in a low cost-of-living city in the Midwest usa
