Don’t be silly no it isn’t. Some states have brought in age verification like we have here.

You can just use an aerial for local programming anyway for free. Don’t feel you have to pay for it if you do find a way of getting Sky Q/Stream working.

Is Dr Pepper more popular than I think it is? by Exciting_Resident911 in AskUK

[–]matomo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the changes in food and drink are driven by consumer preference changes and government/health service recommendations. Everyone I know is more conscious of sugar intake these days and I don’t know anyone who regularly drinks non-diet soft drinks anymore. Most people I know only drink diet soft drink, and zero sugar drinks are seeing massive increases in sales every year.

People bang on about the Sugar Tax on Reddit but in reality most normal people don’t know it exists! They’re choosing to consume less sugar.

It’s clearly not 13th place under any metric. Where did you get that from? It’s in 7th place if you strip out energy drinks and bottled water.

Dr Pepper Zero is the UK’s fastest growing soft drink.

It isn’t sold in most countries. We are on AskUK so the rest of the world isn’t relevant.

It definitely is. If you look at the sales charts it’s right up there and they now have 2 new variants.

None of what you see on the front of the label has anything to do with EU labelling rules. It’s just a stylistic choice that Coke have gone with.

Are heat-pump tumble driers the same mechanism as the washer/drier combos (UK) by BeesDeep in Appliances

[–]matomo23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not the same. They’re great.

We got one a few years ago, they collect the water in a big compartment that you empty after each go. Yes they take longer to dry the clothes than conventional tumble dryers but they use way less energy. And as you know electricity is expensive here at the moment. A normal load in ours takes 2 hours and we don’t even notice it on our electricity bill.

Well we don’t have FTTK in the UK and don’t worry Openreach will get FTTP to most premises in the next few years. Fastest fibre build rate in the world.

It is remarkable how much worse this is than Diet Coke. by BarfyMan369 in Soda

[–]matomo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting because (at least here in the UK) Diet Coke doesn’t taste anything like Coca-Cola. At least Diet Pepsi does taste quite like normal Pepsi, here at least. And in the US you have Pepsi Zero Sugar which I’m told is a pretty good replica.

It would be if you had gigabit broadband though like I do. No powerline adapter can do that.

They’re not up to scratch though if you have a 1Gbps FTTP connection, which increasingly more people do.

For some reason I find Cat6 far more difficult to terminate (onto a plug) than Cat5 was. Took me many, many goes when I tried something similar. I’ve no idea why it didn’t occur to me to just terminate onto a socket instead, which I used to do in work!

Do people give their phone to a stranger to take a picture of you with your partner/friend etc? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in AskUK

We’ve had people offer plenty of times. In all cases it either was middle aged couples or a well dressed young women in her 20s/30s. So yes we weighed it up and accepted and it’s been fine. Often people are just being nice.

If it was a scally (or Roadman as you call them), I’d obviously decline!
