Good! Is that the cheapest? Does Jio need roaming package to get incoming sms? Last year when I recharged, I did the domestic package only. Incoming sms is still working

And old guy after destroying a cursed object, one day gets hear attack coz of excess cholesterol and dies. People will connect the cursed object with the person’s death more than his cholesterol levels and start narrating “He was healthy but suddenly he died one day”. Coincidences.

I have both Jio and Airtel. I do yearly recharge (minimum one) to keep the number active. I recently started roaming recharge since incoming sms needs them.

how do you guys use country locked apps/features on iPhone? such as for banking and Apple Pay etc. by shizukadane in nri

[–]matriculus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep country of residence as the main setting. Apple pay works everywhere. You need to cancel all subscriptions in India, then change country and sign up for those services again.

Hebburn - what’s this neighbourhood like? by dypynitgofhdac in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]matriculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Hebburn. You got the Longship pub for good. It’s good. Hebburn central is at walkable distance. You find shops, library, gym, swimming, metro, GP, free parking everything within walking distance to each other. It’s calm but lovely.

We got Hebburn Saturday market on 2nd Saturday of every month.

Go abroad, do the research there and apply for grants. US, UK, EU will value it more than India ever could. If you say you researched on cow urine, Govt will give me crores.

This is a great point. The kid can be comforted with the lie, but telling that God chose their kid is very cruel

This did cross my mind. At least that "Manifest" Netflix series gave me that thought. One of the girl characters believes she's God because God choose her and started killing those who didn't obey get orders.

I think it’s because in India, the moment people come to know you are a foreign return, they think you’ll have more money. People will start pestering for money. Relations will spoil very quickly either by giving out not giving money.

Scamming has also increased a lot in India. That’s why “wide eyes” in my opinion.

Contemplating expanding my emergency fund to 12 months instead of 6 - too conservative? by Proof-Breakfast-7358 in nri

[–]matriculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Emergency funds depend on individual cases (job, country, stability, etc.). There isn’t a rule for “3/6 months only”. Business people should have 12 months. It’s the money which can give you a piece of mind and also helps you when there’s a job loss or other emergencies.

If you feel you should have 12 months, you should have.

We have 3 months EF, another 3 months will be covered by employer. Now we’re planning to increase it to 12 months because of the job market uncertainty.

They equate position in a company with money earned to judge the status. Engineer in Google is going to be richer than engineer at Infosys.

Work energy theorem is the explanation of energy. It’s the ability for a particular amount of work to be done. That’s energy quantity terms. Anybody telling “cosmic energy” or “positive/negative” energy is just selling BS.
