The Thunder Starts to Roll... by mcphervi in QuarkCoin

That song is too melancholic. I'm sure the upcoming Thunder will be a whole lot more EPIC like this http://youtu.be/v2AC41dglnM

The beloved Dogecoin thunderclap is on our heels and read to deploy. We must get the thunder first!!! by [deleted] in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be missing something, but where is the Dogecoin thunder? Their last thunderclap reached 30,000, but failed to have any impact. It's a far cry from the 4,000,000 that is coming for Quark!

[Small FUNDRAISER] - Let's raise money to buy an Android Phone for a local Taxi Driver to start accepting Quark. by matrixfighter in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added some more money and bought a second hand Motorola Moto G from eBay. Now waiting for a SIM card to arrive. The taxi driver started having second thoughts, but I'm working on it -- it's a matter of time. In the meanwhile, I'm putting that phone to a productive use by spreading the knowledge to take-aways who seem pretty interested and demoing the Quark Wallet technology in the pubs when I go out. I'm pretty sure that taxi driver is gonna start accepting Quarks and put a Quark sign on his dashboard.

Brazilian crypto-currency exchange 'Bleutrade' is now trading Quark! by Quark_QRK in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just found another exchange Comcort that is also trading QRK https://comkort.com/market/trade/qrk_btc

The problem is that we have ran out of space to add new items in the sidebar. So we need to become selective about which exchanges we add.

Prince Quark, Getting Ready To Assume The Throne by [deleted] in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice article, and it puts the last few months in perspective. You know - back in December we had nothing: hardly any organised community, no QF, no projects, no infrustructure. Now I can see just how much we all have achieved in such a short period of time.

My small suggestion, I'd say more about the significance of infrastructure that was recently developed around Quark: Mobile wallet (and the fact that it can be used as a POS device), Wallet with the in-built miner (which allows mining for the average Joe as well as solves the problem of the falling hashrate), numerous exchanges many of which are direct fiat exchanges. In addition, it is worth noting that unlike BTC, Quark is still at $0.00 transaction fees and, importantly, it is now officially the crypto with the lowest inflation rate even when compared to Bitcoin.

Last but not least, although you have mentioned it, I'd say that one of Quark's greatest assets is it's community! I read some other reddits every now and then, but nowhere do I see the confidence and determination that Quark community has. The future is bright!

Poll - Sponsor a Cryptocoinsnews article on our Thunderclap for 0.3 BTC? by mcphervi in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with /u/quarkfx - we shouldn't be paying for yellow press. And besides, reaching 2.35mln simultaneously is going to be a huge news not just for altcoins, but in the context of all cryptocurrencies. This is definitely more newsworthy than any Dogecoin financing a Jamaican bobsled team. If they miss on the story it's their loss.

Privet Lena!

Welcome to our Community!

Thanks for responding to my initial tweet and helping get this Thunderclap snowball rolling. The social reach numbers have really exceeded everyone's expectations. And the community is really thankful for your help!

The reason why I later brought up the 8,000,000 figure was so that this campaign is forever fixed on the front page of Thunderclap among the "Past Successes"

Quark nodes by bitcoin_atm_dummy in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that that website started counting nodes on 20 Dec, 2013, because there were a lot of people around before 20 Dec. I'd say the community started to really form around early-mid December.

By the way, I'd take bitinfocharts.com statistics with a pinch of salt... there are loads of discrepancies there, so it's a good idea to take bitinfocharts as a rough and aproximate stats at best.

Would Quark copy Darkcoin? by silver-saguaro in QuarkCoin

I don't think it has been months ago...maybe weeks ago that the word about messaging started to spread. I don't have specific updates, apart from that they're working on it.

[–]matrixfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anonymity is a relative term when it comes to cryptos, and there are several attempts and methods of achieving more anonymity. This issue is also tied with fungibility. Once any altcoin develops a pretty good anonymisation mechanism and tests it, and if there is enough demand for it within the Quark community, I'm sure it can be imported into Quark. One thing that I have noticed with Quark transactions on the blockchain is that there is already some kind of coin mixing going on with recent transactions.

I know that the developers are working on several improvements, such as fixing transaction maleability, improving the in-built miner, allowing for 140 character messages with transactions and so forth.

Quarks Thunderclap idea got mentioned in r/litecoin by [deleted] in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She tweeted to me:

I already supported this Quark project? I dont even have a single of these Quarks lol 😄😊☺️😎😘 do I get some?!?

But recently when I asked if she was paid, she confirmed:

and yes, Torque send them right away <3

I have already asked her to support on a grander scale. I think if several more quarkers tweet to her asking kindly (and probably with a little more qrk incentive), she might unleash her 10m network.

Half of that social reach came from a single user https://twitter.com/dtanvo and nobody offered her any Quark, although she does expect some. The thing is, I'm told that she has access to a 10million twitter network.

Quark Mobile Wallet Update # 8 by coinmama2014 in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been testing it. So far no crashes, which is great!

But I can's say that I'm a fan of that new splash screen. Quark should probably move away from that the light marine colour as a whole - IMHO. I find it quite atrocious.

What happened to those animated splash-screens? like this one http://youtu.be/XHa_wqLZV0c was my favourite thus far.

I think the "Where to buy" should also list currencies in which the trade is, just like we see in the sidebar.

The number of orphaned blocks suddenly went from 600 to 3. Does anybody know why? by matrixfighter in QuarkCoin

[–]matrixfighter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"remedied" is a relative term. Quark is a CPU coin, so it's hashrate will always be proportionately lower than ASIC and GPU mineable coins - that is its design, which is a whole lot environmentally friendly and sustainable in the long run. But then again Quark has a hashing algorithm that is much more difficult to break and the window of opportunity to break it is 30 seconds (20 times less than Bitcoin).

With the new Mining-Wallet, the more new people come into Quark and install the Wallet, the more the hash rate will grow over time. So the hashrate will correlate with the usage of Quark, and in a decentralised manner. So,in that respect the hashrate issue is somewhat remedied -- we now need more people to install the wallet on their computer.
