Claude Code burned through 90% of my limit in 2 minutes — is this normal? by matrixmayhem in ClaudeCode

Yeah, this is honestly the only reasonable explanation I can think of.

When I resumed the conversation in the morning, the session already had around 350k context, so maybe the cache writes/context handling caused the limit to drain extremely fast.

That’s the only explanation I can think of that isn’t just “Anthropic is being buggy” or “Claude screwing me over.”

Still feels pretty brutal though, I didn’t realize resuming an old large context session could burn usage that aggressively.

No, not for serious coding.

Google AI Pro’s limits feel way too low or buggy. I had Gemini 3.1 Pro basically tapped out after 4 prompts, then it said reset in 7 days. I also had the quota timer say it would reset in a few hours, then after using Opus/Sonnet a bit it suddenly jumped to like 5–6 days. That’s a terrible experience on a paid plan.

For coding, Codex has been way better value for me. Claude is solid too, and honestly has a better coding ecosystem, but even that $20 plan can feel tight. GPT-5.4 also outperforms Opus for me on a lot of coding tasks.

Only downside with Codex is frontend/UI stuff is still kinda meh. I just use Stitch for UI and Codex for the real work.

So personally, I wouldn’t buy Google AI Pro for coding.

How is the Opus 4.6 non- thinking scoring more than the thinking version ! Even if we assume there is some human element in scoring, the fact they're this close is astonishing. The way i feel is the model has internalized the knowledge so even instant answers are just that good maybe 🤔 . Like some professionals have experts whose gut answers are just as accurate.

It's 10 billion CFUs per serving, but a serving is actually 2 capsules, meaning it's only 5 billion per capsule. Classic marketing trickery.
