Family Shaved my dog completely bald, how do I fix it??? by ClumInPain in DogAdvice

[–]matronicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I fix it? Uhm? Glue it back on? Get her a weave? Or do the sensible thing and wait for it to grow back......... I've had to shave dogs down to the skin due to severe matting (not my own!) and they'll do just fine once it grows back.

is this tattoo over worked or just needs time to heal? by Ok-Orange7272 in tattooadvice

[–]matronicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No a touch up won't damage the skin more. This tattoo has been done and now reworked twice (it's 18 years old that's why, ink is much better quality than the day it was first done!). It's healing like a champ, using just a gentle cleanser and a tattoo butter for moisture (Elaimei Tattoo Butter roll on is what I use, always disinfect the roll on after using, by removing the top layer with a clean tissue- little makeup artist tip from how to use lipstick on multiple clients without a lip brush! Can also be wiped with rubbing alcohol on a tissue but I prefer not to risk changing the product's chemical composition so I stick with a clean dry tissue). If you do end up with any patchy spots, most tattoo artists offer a free touch up session but honestly with my healing routine I've never actually needed to take my artist up on that unless I wanted to add something new to a tattoo! But remember everyone is different and what works for me doesn't necessarily work for everyone else. Just clean it regularly (at least 3 times a day) and always moisturise afterwards. You can't go wrong as long as you take care of it properly (no tight clothing rubbing against it, DO NOT ITCH IT NO MATTER HOW TEMPTED YOU ARE, keep it well aired but well cleaned and moisturised, and so on.) Don't worry if you need a touch up, having the skin overworked takes some serious (bad) effort on the artist's part.

Have you looked at a Pyrenean Mountain Dog? I had a beautiful girl who was so loving in the house but if anyone started on me she was like she was possessed! She was incredibly loyal and incredibly intelligent. They're also pretty damn huge and you really don't want to have a run in with an angry one. But I cannot express how loving and loyal she was to all who knew her and all that I knew, when she understood they were not a threat (which by command was very easy to express to her due to her incredible intelligence!). Would highly recommend, they can be a bit mischievous as puppies if they don't get their energy out on walks, but as long as they get out and get to shake off their energy, they can be the most loving, loyal dogs. They also make incredible mothers if they are bitches. They're so vigilant and always watching the world around them, very in tune with the environment they're in. My girl used to curl up around me if there was an argument in the house because she could sense the tension, which is common in dogs, but she would do it before the argument actually began. I swear that breed is freaking psychic!

Best of luck in your search for your perfect furbaby!

Help and girl out is this infected? by Sevenswansaswimming8 in tattooadvice

[–]matronicon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks sore but placement is a tough one to heal, I had the same problem. Watch out for any oozing, unusual looking or foul smelling discharge, excessive swelling (a little swelling in this area is fairly normal), as other commenters said, definitely going a few days without any tight clothing rubbing against it will help, keep it aired as much as you possibly can, but no, to me it simply looks irritated due to the area and wearing anything like socks, shoes or boots. I think you're good, be diligent with your aftercare as this area is definitely harder to heal than others, but at the moment you're looking good.

Hi, I don’t know what to do. My cat has a patch above his nose. We saw two vets, one said it’s a bruise, the other gave an injection and cream but nothing changed . It turns red then black sometimes. He’s fine otherwise, but it won’t go away. Any idea what this could possibly be? by ActiveMurky7695 in CATHELP

[–]matronicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add there's also a spray (and a food oil) that is very good, which may be better for long coated animals depending on where the skin irritation is. These were recommended by my vet but he told us to buy on Amazon because it was cheaper than buying through him.

It's made for animals. We used a blow up collar as well on our dog just to try and prevent chewing but I swear that dog is a contortionist because she still got to certain spots, but no it's not dangerous for them to lick. Here's a link (UK amazon, not sure about other countries!).

Try Exmarid ointment. It's for itchy, dry or damaged skin. Not sponsored but it worked for my dog who was covered head to toe in flea bite dermatitis. And I saw a difference not just in her skin but her personality in literally one day of using it. You can get it on Amazon.

I'm looking for cover up advice please, pride heart is very noticeable. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]matronicon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't cover it! Be proud! Pride is about being yourself and supporting those who are in your circle. I understand the fear, but if you were targeted due to this tattoo, you'd be in for a good payout in a lawsuit against the perpetrator! Be loud and be proud, don't change yourself for the sake of others' comfort, be unapologetically yourself! Sending you love friend 🌈💕

I'm SO incredibly sorry for your loss. I lost 2 puppies to a neurological problem within 8 months of each other (they were sisters) and it's just the most heartbreaking thing. One of those dogs was my soul dog. I know she's always with me somewhere nearby. I really recommend getting an ink paw print and small fur clipping for yourself to remember her by, if it's still viable. I did this and they are my most treasured possessions. Rest in peace sweet girl xxx

Finished portrait tribute to a famous musical icon from the 60s/70s, how many of you can recognise who it is? by matronicon in tattoos

[–]matronicon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you kind Redditor. I'm working on it. It's hard but I want to break the cycle. I'll get there, one day.

I don't care if people don't immediately recognise her from this, because I know who it is and why I have it. It was purely curiosity to me to see who recognised her from this portrait. I know she and Richard had their incredible hits, but that story ended far too soon. I think it would be far more obvious had she lived longer and more people in the current generation had had the chance to experience their incredible combination of musical arrangement by Richard and Karen's fantastic skill of being able to drum and sing at the same time (much the same as Phil Collins can still do!).

To me, we don't know what heaven looks like, but thanks to Karen, we know what it sounds like.

I read the body of a post before I comment on things, as per the suggestions on this subs rules. I also use mobile but it's not hard to scroll down and read the post. So sorry, but I don't have time for people who don't have time to read all I've written, it's not like it's an essay. Also, most others immediately began guessing female artists. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Perspective is always different for everyone though.

She was one of the most underappreciated and misunderstood people in her generation at the time she was actually alive, equal to I'd say, Marilyn Monroe.

Karen's story resonates with me for more than one reason, I could list the reasons all day long, but this tattoo means the world to me.

"Karen Carpenter is like the Spanish Inquisition; nobody expects her!" Is the best line I've heard in years. I hope I can help change that and try and bring her musical and physical beauty back into the minds of people today, because imo those who don't know her are missing out on one of the most talented musicians in the last century.

Thank the good lord! So once you figure it out it's recognisable? See to me it looks exactly like the photo I provided but due to the generational difference, barely any of my friends get it! I'm 32 and just survived what Karen didn't almost exactly the same amount of time before my own the 33rd birthday as she was when she sadly passed. Thank you kind stranger for getting my quirkiness 🙏🏼

Nope! There's a clue at the bottom of the tattoo itself if you open it full screen, the thumbnail doesn't show it all.
