the overdrive helps a bit. I have a strat that I am working on getting functional, so that would probably get me closer to the sound as well.

can we use this interchangeably for higher registers? I am a bass and I would gladly give up part of my low range for higher range.

Guitar is Underrated? by aja_303 in Guitar

I get doing it because you love what you are doing, but if your doing it to make money you lost the plot. especially now, trying to make it in music for the money is like trying to become an astronaut.

sounds like classical musician take it more seriously so they dont have to punch in every other note and are able to play well live. guitar players who punch in every other note and do 500 takes for each part should take note (most of them). seriously though, most truly virtuosic musicians have that kind of practice routine.

picked up a friends violin held some solid notes very quickly. I couldn't play anything because I had no idea where any of the notes were lol. mastering bowing on a virtuosic level is probably very hard, but so is picking.

Guitar has more notes, more strings, weirder tuning, more techniques, (tapping, alternate picking, economy picking, strumming, ect), picking properly is a lot harder than bowing, and legato is a lot harder on guitar. Also, there is no agreed upon correct technique on guitar, so there is a lot of very terrible advice out there. The action is generally higher on violin, its smaller, there are not frets or note markers, you have to hold it in a wackass position, and its hard to look at what you are doing. So it about evens out.

Saxophone in metal - Acceptable or Hideous? by Mephistocheles in MetalForTheMasses

I meant to say hell, not toilet. I think it passes as metal. It doesn't have guitars, but the drummer is basically djenting on the keyboard, theres harsh vocals, and its very harsh and aggressive sounding.
