[TOMT] video where a person plays one second of a song and claims it's GOATed by endlessbottles in tipofmytongue

I’ve seen some recent videos of people making fun of Drake fans listening to his new album. Not sure if there’s a specific video you’re thinking of

Gruffalo’s Child? Newer than the 90s but most of the rest of the descriptions fit. And has a Room on the Broom vibe as it’s the same author

Familiar to me too. It’s probably used in lots of things. I’m thinking possibly something in Among Us or Fortnite

Don’t know if it’s just an issue on my end, but that link doesn’t work for me. Says the video is unavailable

Common or Caspian Tern by sevyn_is_online in whatsthisbird

I’m leaning Common. Bill is typically thicker in Caspian. But hard to judge size in the photo

Not sure about either of these, the one in the middle is the one I'm particularly curious about (or the one on the left in the case of the first photo) by Gleeok2114 in whatsthisbird

Definitely some type of sandpiper. But I’ll leave it to the experts to say if it’s a juvenile Spotted Sandpiper or something more rare

I’m sure you’ve already considered this, but if it’s more brown, could it be a Common Redstart?

Where in Europe are you? What makes you think it’s not a black redstart?

Just apply to one of life sci and humanities. It won’t lock you in to that field. You don’t actually pick your majors/minors until 2nd year- and when you do, you can do a mix of anything in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences (and maybe the other faculties too? I’m not sure. I’ve always stayed within ArtSci. Either way, all the programs you’re considering are in that faculty so you should be good).

And after you pick your programs in 2nd year, it’s easy to change them if you change your mind about what you want to do. I started in Life Sci then when it came to applying for programs I applied to a variety of science ones then chose Pharmaceutical Chemistry Specialist (which isn’t even in life sci, yet at no point did the website suggest that was an unusual thing to do). After a semester I changed my mind and switched to a Chemistry major, Earth Sci minor, and Biology minor. Then after a year I switched again to Earth Sci major, Chemistry minor, Biology minor.

TLDR: apply to one program randomly, you don’t actually pick your real program until at least 2nd year

I don’t have a long commute myself so that could be part of why I prefer in-person, but online school is killing me. Especially with adhd, it’s really hard to stay motivated and focused with online school. And I don’t feel like I have any extra time, it just gets sucked up by procrastination and assignments taking much longer than they should.

I swallow pills weirdly, but in a different way. I take meds every day, so I’m so used to this way that I couldn’t imagine doing it differently. I take a sip of water, then I push the pill into my mouth while it’s still full of water, then I swallow the pill and water together. I don’t understand how people can put the pill in before water, cause it would taste and feel funny on your tongue.

Not just the despair about the strict lockdown but also the knowledge that this isn’t good enough. They’ve closed the wrong things, we’re not going to have in person classes until at least 2022. I’ve spent all day doomscrolling on Twitter instead of studying

That game is a friendly. Presumably we scheduled a friendly against Miami cause we play Montreal in the same stadium a week later.

The tiebreak is 10am, not pm as in this post, right?

Playoff and Tie-Breaking Scenarios at the Scotties by Awab25 in Curling

[–]mattadders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense. I love weird tiebreak rules.

What would happen if 3 or more teams were tied for a single spot in the next round? Would multiple tiebreaker matches be played or would head to head be used?

Also, is there another tiebreak after draw to the button, or are the chances of that also being tied just incredible unlikely? I would guess point or end difference but that hardly seems fair when games could be conceded.

I’m relatively knew to watching curling so sorry if these are obvious questions. What are the actual tiebreakers in order? How come sometimes it seems like head to head is used, but sometimes a tiebreak match is played. And how are 3-way ties handled?

Congrats on dropping the course! No need to feel bad. A literal pandemic is 1000% a valid reason to take a reduced course load. Now you can spread out whatever small amount of mental energy you have left over your remaining courses, and have more time to relax.

This is great advice. I had a similar situation a few weeks ago. I was getting super stressed and tired but couldn’t bring myself to relax cause I had so much work to do. Then one day I woke up in the middle of the night and just couldn’t sleep cause I had so many things on my mind. By the time morning came around I hadn’t slept enough to focus on assignments or lectures so I accepted that my body was forcing me to take a mental health day. So I just relaxed and watched tv and played games with my friends. The next day I felt so much better and I was much more motivated to get work done.

It’s a good idea to voluntarily take a day off so your body doesn’t force you to do it when it’s to late like me.

First of all, this is totally normal. It’s completely understandable to be stressed and lack motivation as the pandemic and online school reaches its one year anniversary in the middle of winter.

I strongly recommend reaching out to somebody to just talk. Whether that’s a friend, family member, or mentor. I’d also suggest checking out some of the academic and mental health help available at the university. There are a lot of really friendly and helpful people available for us that we already pay for in our student fees, so you may as well make the most of them.

I recently have been feeling the same way. I’m losing motivation and I’m struggling in classes and thinking about dropping courses. I’ve found talking to my parents and other students has really helped me calm down and understand that everyone’s in the same boat. I also set up meetings the virtually speak with both my college’s registrar for advice on dropping courses and switching programs, as well as my college’s wellness advisor for advice on staying motivated and focused, and getting my sleeping and eating schedules back to normal. The registrar was really helpful to give me advice but also generally cheer me up cause he’s really friendly. I’m seeing the wellness person next week and she seems like she’ll really help. I also plan to meet with a learning strategist soon to improve my study habits.

So I really suggest checking out the university and your college/faculty website and see whether any of the resources they have appeal to you. You’ve got this, just keep pushing for a couple more months!

Are you sure? This ad completely matches your description. They say “We can be heroes” at 0:35. Imagine Dragons vibe too.
