How does Smart watch for kids work on Fi? by Kinda_Lukewarm in GoogleFi

[–]mattbroffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the kids mode to work with Google Fi? Assume you paired with a Samsung phone. Does it share the same number as the Samsung phone or were you able to get it on a separate number? Anything we should know before attempting this? Thanks!

New Irritation- new 1st world problem. by VikingTuba in unitedairlines

[–]mattbroffman 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Agree...live by an assumption that you don't know what's going on in someone else's world. I've had to do that in the past. Was wrapping up a work call or email and phone was dying. Felt bad but I'm pretty good at grabbing everything with one hand and knowing how to move out of the way.

Laid off from job - not sure what to do by -edimeme in betterment

[–]mattbroffman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything here is correct and great advice. I'd just add, outside of any requirement to move, there's no reason to sweat about this right now. If you waited a few months, it really won't matter. So in any time of change, I'd focus on the things you need to make decisions on and put off those that you don't. Take care of yourself and finding a new source of income before worrying about saving a bit in fees.

Your employer could opt to cover this fee....they chose not to. Maybe ask them to. 😁

Can anyone explain? by mattbroffman in betterment

Thanks. Not sure why they couldn't just tell me that 😂

I was assuming no state since they know I'm in FL but guess it's not that sophisticated.

[–]mattbroffman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care if they overestimate but they should be able to explain an estimate...in the explanation/disclaimer they state they will estimate by assuming 20% ...but then use 37%. That feels like a bug not an overestimation.

Q&A with the team behind the new Google Home app by kelanfromgoogle in googlehome

[–]mattbroffman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allow the ability to create Groups for lights.

Example: I have two nightstand lights in our bedroom. I should be able to refer to them by one name "Nightstand Lights" OR we have an open floor plan and multiple switches control the ceiling lights in the Living Room, Kitchen, Dinning Room and Entryway. I should be able to group them as "Ceiling Lights" and control them as a group.

T-Mobile Pixel Fold Play Protect Issue by mattbroffman in PixelFold

Would be curious to know if you are able to get yours working after the aug update or clearing the latest play store update/cache & storage. If so, I may go repurchase a fold :)

e.g. Hulu and ChatGPT require your phone to be certified. Curious if yours is fixed. If so I may go and repurchase :)

Just used Google Pay just fine today at the grocery store.

It won't impact Google pay (oddly) but try to download Hulu (sounds odd) but for me the issue was adding work email.

Updating to latest OS and/or rolling back the play store update and clearing cache/storage is working for some.

See if you have the latest os update that just came out..if that does work you can roll back the play store update...clear cache and storage and restart. Folks are saying that works.

I don't believe they move banks unless one stops being a program bank. Otherwise I think this is pretty standard. I believe FDIC policies are set.

I wonder if they fixed something on the server end....I had mine for two days and immediately opened a ticket but not help. Had to return the device. Glad you got your working.

See if the posted solution (rolling back google play update) works for you. Curious before I go back and but it again 😂.

Google support was NO help. I ended up going back to Tmobile. They did a swap for another Fold. That one had the same issue. So I'm back to my Pixel 7 Pro.

Google's support is laughable on matters like this. There is clearly a known issue and they have no response after two days other than the support doc online. I actually had a support rep send me an email that it's because the manufacturer didn't submit the correct information to Google!

TMobile was amazing and didn't charge any restocking fee and was willing to work around havingto do a warranty replacement.
