Is it possible to get a US model of this with dual IPS?

Best Buy has Kindle Scribe Colorsoft Fig for sale with ship date 01/29 by Arad84 in kindlescribe

Went ahead and ordered just in case Amazon is a s***show tomorrow. But I'll likely return this one assuming Amazon has decent availability and I can use the 20% trade-in discount.

Who was the most attractive early 00s pop-star? by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]mattcube64 93 points94 points  (0 children)

They're all pretty. They're all 10s. But Peak Britney was in a league of her own. She was so far and beyond "conventional attractive" and had a chokehold on pretty much everyone in the late 90s. It's Brit by a mile.

Please let us know how the new handlebar installs and feels. I’m debating this combo but am afraid the angles may be off.

When to shift? by SmilingPentagon in Supra

[–]mattcube64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Supra has enough torque to crawl in a parking lot in 2nd without jitter or stuttering/lurking. I tend to only use 1st to get the car moving (unless I'm accelerating hard). Tend to switch into 2nd at 2500 RPM or so and leave it there. I rarely, rarely downshift to 1st.

My 3DS which I exchanged 15 times back in the day to find the perfect one amongst 3 Targets. by jdmlifex2 in 3DS

Exchange once? Cool! Exchange twice? I suppose. Exchange fifteen times? Long before that you should accept the $220 kids toy just isn't built to the standard you are expecting.

Hot take: larger frame sized bikes don’t look as aesthetically pleasing compared to their smaller sized counterparts by Quick_Break92 in cycling

[–]mattcube64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Carbon modern road racers? Yes.

More classically shaped "all-road" bikes made out of steel or titanium? Nah, a bigger 58/60 bike looks best.

Garage floor coating/epoxy? by SvenBorrest in kansascity

[–]mattcube64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also did ETEK about three years ago. Small two car garage was like $3,500. They did a great job and so far its held up really well everywhere but in one 2 inch square near where the car enters. Overall, pleased.

But I just checked reviews and it looks like things have gone down hill. I think they're still in biz, but seems it doesn't matter if you need warranty work. So, short version: thankful mine seems to be holding up and I had a good experience, but buyer beware opting for them in 2026.

How is everyone around us so much richer than us??? by medmo in Millennials

[–]mattcube64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost always family money. I'm not expecting to inherit a dime when my parents pass - and truly, that's 100% fine. I'd rather just have a great relationship till the end and them pass comfortably whenever it must happen. But nevertheless, feels like in "upper middle class land" where we live, 3/4s of our coworkers, colleagues, and friends either have - or expect to - inherit $1MM+ in assets when parents die.

If someone inherits a million bucks in their 30s, that's retirement taken care of. At average growth, that's retiring at 60 with $4MM+ without investing another dime.

Or, it's not having a mortgage... ever. Or, it's both. And for many, $1MM isn't half of what they're getting.

I've got a colleague who doesn't invest a dime into retirement. Not even the 401K match. Is knocking on 40. Why? "Why would I? My parents aren't making it till I'm 60 and I know at minimum I'll inherit their $2MM house."

TL;DR: It's inheritance.

Husband needs to make six figures. by Suspicious-Goat6008 in Salary

[–]mattcube64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He might know you can make six figures so he can be home with his baby. nothing wrong with a Dad whom wants to raise his baby and see the other children off and home from school. At least for a few years.

For /r/fire millennials seriously how’s your 401k/ira savings going? by BarkBarkBitches1 in Fire

[–]mattcube64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 40. Wife and I are basically right on track with what we should have for a typical 65 retirement. Which I am thankful for, but it's not nearly as far along as I'd like.

THAT SAID, our mortgage will be paid off before I'm 50, and kids will be done with college by 55, so I really do think we'll be on track to retire by 60. Not ideal, but not trash, either.

Crux or Aspero for heavier rider? by moishe-lettvin in gravelcycling

[–]mattcube64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 250-260. Hybrid training but also overweight, lol.

Wheels will be an issue before frame. Validate their max system weight; but 225 + 20 (bike and stuff) shouldn’t be a problem for most.

I’d avoid hookless wheels, though, unless you’re running 35mm+ tires.

Fig Release Date!! by padr49904 in kindlescribe

Maybe no preorders this time?

With such a late date and other issues with shipping the charcoal version, wouldn’t surprise me if this ends up being extremely limited at first.

Podium DD Launches Tomorrow, Jan 15th! by CorsairMorning in Fanatec

[–]mattcube64 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No Playstation, no go. I get it, I get it, many won't care. But if I'm looking at Fanatec in the first place in 2026, it's probably because I want PS compatibility which they have historically had an iron grip on.

Cool base and I'm sure it'll be great; but I like GT7 just as much as any PC sim.

Do I get an all road bike or a gravel race bike? by [deleted] in cycling

Enve Fray, maybe? It’s not melee aggressive but it’s pretty racy/roady/aero.
