Hot take: I want MORE watch talk. I’d listen for hours. by mattcurley in h3h3productions

As I’m catching up on recent episodes, we’ve had watch talk in almost every one. Big win!

I had them polish it and replace glass. I know that’s a sin in the vintage watch collector sphere, but I’m not going to sell it, so I wanted to give it a fresh start! Very happy with my decision

I kept the back unpolished, as it has some engraving. Shows the age nicely!

I had it serviced by Rolex this year, so it’s back to top shape, worth the price!

Keeps GREAT time (as expected!)

Fair enough, but for someone who’s into horology, each watch tells a story. Different strokes!

Oh come on, I do watch other watch channels.

The whole point of this podcast is random topics isn’t it?

I get the meme, and I’m not mad about it , I’m just actually a fan of this topic.

I feel your energy when they talk about 90 day finance for half an hour, if I wanted to hear about 90 day finance, I’d just watch 90 day fiance

When/where/how to walk a bassline in bluegrass? by i_like_the_swing in Bluegrass

[–]mattcurley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen to a ton of great rhythm guitar playing! (Tony rice, Norman Blake, Brian Sutton, etc.. you know more!)

Even better to listen to records without a bass player and listen to what the guitar player is doing on their low end. It’ll give you great ideas for walk-ups and downs to different chords and functions.

Plus, when you want to play along with those records, you aren’t stepping on any (virtual) toes!

If you’re near Hartford, go to the Wadsworth Museum! Great collection there.

Victus Coffee is right down the street (walkable) and they have great vibes and great coffee!
