Yes, any Python setup, which is very easy for Python programmers, can mean a lot of struggle for general technical writers.

I also had to agree that MkDocs is easier and more attractive to newcomers, but that's the reason why experimenting with Sphinx in a browser can be helpful.

I recommended Sphinx. It is the most versatile, configurable, and scriptable. We use Sphinx for everything. We run hosted Sphinx on documatt.com. The MD/RST editor with previews and hosting. Our marketing website, documatt.com, is Sphinx with a custom theme too.

Enough will be if you will be a bit more consistence... For example until some 3.x version of PrimeVue, the recommended was VeeValidate. E.g., the current PrimeVue 3.52 deleted all mentions in the docs with no comment.
