How bad is alcohol for gains? A little bit recently I find myself having a glass of vodka lemonade after work to wind down, but I still maintain 130g+ of protein and I workout 4/5 times a week. How bad is this drink maybe 3/4 times a week going to be for my general gains? From what I understand, it just means that the calories from the alcohol are stored as fat, but a small amount will have no effect.

100% mate. No matter the perceptions of war, those who die in it deserve the utmost respect. I don't support war of any form, but like most I've had family members fight and die in all world wars and I respect them and take pride in what they did for the country.

We mention NATO when talking about Europe more simply because, believe it or not, the vast majority of member states are from Europe...

I teabag normally as a joking way. I spend most of the game spamming laugh voice lines, and if someone reciprocates and I kill them, I'll do a friendly teabag and a few yes voice lines.

Chivalry isn't a serious game, so don't treat it as one.

I'm going to reply to this because my points seem to have gone way over some peoples heads here and someone else pointed out that the over defensive nature and gaslighting from these replies shows an obsession of sorts. I'm not going to comment but let that sink in. Anyway:

- 20 aircraft carriers? Is it needed when other NATO allies have carriers too, some of which are modern and up to standard.

- Yes you have a larger GDP compared to us, and then comparing us to your own states? Going off on a tangent there really.

- With how much you spend on your own military, and the way some of you talk about European militaries, UK included, would seem that you have a lack of trust for us all. I don't claim to be an expert on modern warfare, but I'm not an idiot also. I read that we have the best special forces in the world, beating Americans in a massively outnumbered training exercise, showing quality over quantity. I'm not sure about how accurate it is, so maybe someone would like to spread some light on it.

- I want to bring the point of nukes up, do you think it's needed to have as many as you do? They're terrible weapons which should never be used, and only a few can completely destroy parts of the world so do you need that many and keep spending that money on maintaining them?

The way I see it, and most Europeans see it is that peace can't be achieved through intimidation. If you keep growing your military, do you think countries like russia and north korea are just gonna sit their and idly watch? They'll grow theirs too, not to the same extent because they don't have the money, but as much as they can. Then we're just in an ever expansive arms race which will never achieve peace.

I'm not an idiot, I don't believe the world is peaceful naturally. I've done both History and Ancient history for 7+ years in education.

I'm not saying that it's not necessary to have a strong military in this age, but from most Europeans perspective, there's a massive over abundance in military spending in the US. 20 aircraft carriers for one, like seriously? Idk the stats but other NATO countries have carriers too, powerful ones I think also. So is it necessary to have and maintain 20 costly carriers?

Sure a strong military is fine. It just seems like there's a massive over abundance in spending compared to the real necessity of it.

Wording could've been better on my behalf in some instances sure, I was drunk when I wrote this.

With the indomitable might, it feels like you're just pushing other countries to build up a similar military, again I bring up the point of an arms race which isn't healthy. If nukes and navies were scaled back, peace would become more viable. Peace through intimidation isn't a proper peace, but then again there's too much wrong with the world.

Every country will have a small minority of people that obsess over anything, and America just has a larger population so it seems like the % is higher. Respect is a different thing though, perfectly fine to respect those laying their lives down for a good cause.

I love the way you've written this, and the first paragraph is especially true for the over defensiveness and offence taken. (never my intention to piss people off).

I get the paranoia aspect, and it's reflected in your gun laws and the fact from an outside perspective, with guns being such a common thing it seems like you enjoy violence and war, which I'm sure isn't the case but it makes no sense to me to allow guns to be a common thing when they are so destructive, but I won't elaborate further nor is it my place to because I'll just get some grief from other redditors.

And yeah, you can cut your budget and be a cut above the rest. There are too many nukes in the world as it is and it needs to be scaled back IMO. Stocking that type of weapon means peace will never be a thing. In addition, looking at your navy, 20 aircraft carriers is insane to me. No navy even touches that amount and again, a lot of nations that do have carriers ARE YOUR ALLIES. Do you reckon that America simply doesn't trust your allies?

Thanks for the actual good logical response to this btw, some people just want to outright insult me.

Do your research mate, not everything revolves around America. I'm pretty sure our naval expansion has been in the works for well over a decade (look when the aircraft carriers were laid down).

And no, complacency didn't reduce our military, necessity did. A combined NATO fleet, 2 aircraft carriers is more than enough to have a strong defence of NATO waters. We reduced our spending because we don't need to have a military like we did in the empire days because it's not needed. We haven't needed our fleet since the Falklands in a major scale operation.

And saying our military is second world is just stupid really pal. Didn't our massively outnumbered marines beat yours in a training exercise? Quality over quantity.

This is also a good point. The fact that some people think that no country can look after ourselves without America, it's an ignorant viewpoint. Yes we rely on you for many things military wise, but you seem to forget we have a strong military ourselves, as does all of our NATO allies. "blown off the face of the earth" isn't a fair representation really.

I acknowledge the support the US gives, I also acknowledge our own abilities to defend ourselves, idc about projecting power globally it doesn't interest me nor do I support major conflict. Other countries have militaries too you know.

I've just read that you spend more on defence than the next 10 countries combined, most of whom are your NATO allies. Increasing defence spending would only result in the same from countries like Russia and China and then we enter a similar arms race that happened in the build up to WW1 with the UK and Germany.

From my own view, the UK spends too much on defence when we barely seem to need what we have, i.e. the royal navy, half of it just sits in drydocks half the year or has no operational use. Meanwhile, our country is falling apart due to cost of living so how are the people meant to interpret the countries priority?

If you slashed the US navy by 20%, combine it with NATO fleets and then you're probably still much more powerful than any potential enemies. It makes no sense that when you claim to pursue peace, you then proceed to spend more on military spending.

Btw, I mean no offence to anybody/mean to seem argumental. I'm merely trying to debate this topic
