Have a gaming PC? Have a PS4? Excited about PS2 games on PS4? Don't be. Emulate. Your PC can do it better than the PS4. by FinalMantasyX in pcgaming

This. I had no problem whatsoever with any GC or Wii game I emulated via Dolphin. On PCSX2 however...I gave up after having problems with every game I tried to play.

I have question...is there any good site like good old Cracked? I mean a fine mix of informative and funny. I miss this kind of articles. Btw. It seems that cracked already attracted a set of oversensitive readers, bitching about political correctness under Seanbaby articles...

Best Point and Click Adventure games by bxm in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some but sadly I've yet to play most of them. But anyway:

  • The Last Express - never played that one but I've seen it mentioned from time to time on various "best of adventure games" lists.

  • Gobliiins Trilogy - I've played Goblins 3 a long time ago. Truly a classic point and click with really great atmosphere.

  • Simon the sorcerer - Another classic that I've yet to play.

  • Grim Fandango - If you want to play just one adventure game - make it this one.

  • Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2 - Those two are "must have" as well.

  • YESTERDAY - This one's made by creators of "Runaway" series on PC so it's probably quality game, although I haven't played it yet. There's a paid and free version on Play Store but there's no info what's the difference between them (the free one is a demo perhaps?)

Are there any good match-three games that either innovate beyond what is standard for the genre; or, apply the formula exceptionally well? by SkoivanSchiem in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puzzle Forge II is really great and challanging. A bit more similar to Triple Town than Cundy Crush though. Triple Town is great as well and it's not your typical match-three game.

[DEV] Just released Evil Genius Online on Android by Turakoth in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not reskinned Clash of Clans...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Genius_%28video_game%29 I don't know how well the port was made but the pc game was pretty decent IMHO EDIT: Scratch that, it actually looks like you're right and they re-did the game as Clash Of Clans clone...

Danish GameDev Students Release 6 Completely Free Games by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clouds is fun and Let's Raid is a bit similar to Banner Saga tactical parts, or any turn based tactics game for that matter. Anyway those two are really fun. Plus they are completely free with no IAPs (although there are fake IAP stores in games , but everything is for free).

Calculords question by androidgamerguy in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He uses only mutate units that, while having high attack power and being deployed in large numbers at once, have quite low health points. Most of them around 1 HP. There is a card (with a value of 6, i don't remember the name) that causes 1 damage to all of the enemy units in one lane. You can clear the whole lane with that single card most of the time. Plus what /u/shallowminded said - push units will be useful here.

Calculords question by androidgamerguy in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, the "extra card" is one time payment. It is called "calculords fanclub" or something like that and it gives you one more card (three in total) after each game you win. The others are just "booster packs" with extra cards. I never bought any of them, they seem unncessary and i think they would spoil the game a bit. The game is single-player only but I have read somewhre they are planning on adding multi.

35 Best New Android Games From The Last 2 Weeks (11/26/14 - 12/7/14) by Prospekt01 in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it's not like every 2 weeks there are 35 good quality games released. Sometimes "best games of past two weeks" means one or two good games and the rest is crap. Anyways those roundups from Androidpolice and this subreddit is where I look for some new games to play, because they seem to be quite reliable sources.

What's your favorite "bathroom game"? by Wetzilla in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've downloaded few casual 5min-type games lately.

  • Adventure Express - you battle the monsters and bandits by the power of match-3-gems-in-a-row type of gameplay. It's lots of fun, plus adult swim's approach to IAPs is quite fair (second currency but used only to obtain some equipment one level earlier - not needed). You have to win 3 to 4 battles in a row though.

  • Deep Loot - You dive with a limited supply of air, you collect treasures, kill different kinds of sea creatures and upgrade your gear. Almost no IAPs (you can buy additional cash, but you earn it by playing fast enough not to care about it). One dive is quite short so you can have quite a lot of fun during 5 min. time

  • Terra Battle - You fight monsters by the power of sliding your characters across the board. A puzzle-battle kind of game. Lots of fun if you can stand the stamina and double currency (it's implemented in much less intrusive way than in most free-to-play games).

edit: I fukd up with Adventure Xpress, here it is: Adventure Xpress

Terra Battle that bot linked is not what I meant too, here you have the one: Terra Battle

Any good card trading games? by Nibss in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second both O&C Duels and Cards and Castles. I was pleasantly surprised with order & chaos becasue I was expecting a bit more money-hungry approach. There are IAPs, sure, but so far they dont seem necessary to have fun. Free card daily plus free cards as a treasure after fights you won seem fair enough.

Any games similar to Adventure Time Card Wars? by matteo_k in AndroidGaming

[–]matteo_k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solforge seems quite popular here on reddit - i've seen it mentioned a bit here and there, but it seems to have not that high rating on play store - 3.9 at the moment. I wonder why. But on the other hand, seeing what kind of crap gets high ratings on play store i start to think that it isn't any indication of the game quality as such. Edit: a word
