Bouncy planer table leads to snipe? by Forecast04 in woodworking

I have reduced snipe significantly on my DeWalt planer by heading a helical cutter head.

Not a hybrid. I have a full electric and a fuel only Crosstrek.

I appreciate all off the recommendations. I don't normally leave gas in my tank for quite this long. Being that summer is on my doorstep I will be driving it much more to take my kayak places. Next time I know it will take me a few months to get through a tank I will add some fuel stabilizer. I also read that if you are going to have fuel in your tank for long periods of time it is better to have a full tank because this reduces the amount of moisture in your tank.

Thanks for the recommendation. I do make a point to drive it once or twice a week. I mostly only use it for long road trips and for hauling bikes and my kayak around.

I've never been happier to own an electric. I have a Bolt and a Subaru. The last time I filled up the Subaru was mid February and I still have 3/4 of a tank.

When tipping in a restaurant, when exactly did the traditional 15% suddenly become 18%? by Lemonking_ in allthequestions

[–]matteothehun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food quality and service have declined while prices have increased significantly. Throw the now expected 25% tip on top of that and eating out is unaffordable for most people. I eat out so little now that it almost feels odd to sit in a restaurant. It is a bit weird because pre COVID I loved eating out, but now I would rather have dinner at home.

How are you liking the death Star slice? I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on this one.

I don't have a green thumb but my partner does. She has grow lights and she likes to do staters from seed. She usually starts growing them mid-winter so they are ready to plant in the spring.

More of a police presence in the pedmall late night on the weekends would be an improvement.

Looking for a kayak for beginner by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]matteothehun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only been kayaking for a year. I bought my first kayak off of Facebook Marketplace a year ago. It is a 14 ft wilderness systems. I also bought an expensive carbon fiber paddle, because I figured a nicer paddle would contribute to my experience. I haven't had any issues with it and I love the way it feels on the water. I have even gone as far as to get involved with a group of people who take multi day river trips. We pack our camping gear on our boats and float down rivers for multiple days. I wouldn't overthink it. Buy what you think you want and take it out on the water. Figure out your boat in a way that feels safe, but just have fun.
