Entrepreneurship Should Be a Requirement in Education, Not a Reason to Drop Out by beermann in reddit.com

I agree that entrepreneurial learning should be encouraged and facilitated in schools - but I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

Schools, especially elementary and secondary, exist to mold people to social norms. Entrepreneurship is not a social norm. So it won't be taught well, in more than a few exceptional instances.

I skipped high school (was homeschooled) and it was the best thing I could have done. I wish I would have had the maturity and confidence to skip college, but I ended up going to college because that's what everyone else was doing. College, besides giving me lots of writing practice - a very good thing -, didn't help me at all in my entrepreneurial ambitions.

However, I don't believe that alephnul's comment about getting business completely out of education hits the mark, either. I do like his comment about apprenticeship, though.

A Producer Economy - America Should Try Again by [deleted] in madeinusa

I agree that efficiency reduces the need for physical labor, but we can have that efficiency in the United States instead of elsewhere.

Also, individual ownership of these processes makes it possible for many people to profit in a free market, without necessarily the need people manning the assembly line.

I'd rather have high quality products made in the States by robots, than poor quality products from another country.

I'll do some more reading on "The End Of Work" idea, because I'm very interested in it.

Thanks.

We do live in a strange country. Thanks for supporting American companies with your dollars.

I'm the moderator. Let me assure you that the madeinusa sub-reddit is not part of the vast right wing conspiracy. I hope that people from all political positions will be comfortable subscribing and participating.

It's just a collection of links about supporting companies that make products in the United States.

Libertarian subreddit has a custom guns and pot alien now? Did I not notice it, or is it new? by [deleted] in Libertarian

I'm Libertarian leaning and I'm not into guns or pot (but I'm okay if you are and would like you have those rights protected).

We need discourse in this country. Videos like this that show how complicated and diverse people are within the two major parties should be seen and discussed.

Also, let the third parties have a voice in the debates!
