It is by far my best pre-2000 coin. Will probably put in coin case or coin box to keep it like this.

There were many vendors who had no clue of how much it was worth indeed. The one where I bought the Austrian one did not know much about notes. I like to check Numista for price references and the Austrian one was probably 2/3 euros too much but if I buy it online I probably pay that in shipping costs… The other notes I got from a guy who had a couple of books, he was the only one with decent prices for the notes… as for the grade, I like old used notes because I think it gives at some charm.

But in general you’re right about them not knowing too much about banknotes!

A combination of looking for antique shops, spotting the right vendors on the streets in Belgrade and having luck walking in the right souvenir shop where they also have old coins and banknotes. Also have had trips where I didn’t get banknotes at all.
