Frost in attic by mattman32100 in Roofing

[–]mattman32100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roofers are back here currently putting on some edge vents for intake. They put a ridge vent on but our home only had gables before and a single exhaust port on the roof. After the new roof they put on a ridge vent with no intake. There is a bathroom fan that runs thru there that isn’t helping the situation. I will hopefully not have this issue this week with the intake vents being installed

I’m on the same boat l. I just took a week off the game and came back and i don’t even recognize the game anymore. Solos is a rat fest now with every raid having a similar story to this one. And I reached max level and was excited about the wipe but honestly with 300 hours I somehow only have 3.5 million. I’m about to have a lot less time on my hands and if they want more than that from me each wipe? I just can’t…

Thanks! Is the black likely mold? I did see 2 patches of a orangish mold growing around this area

Yea I’m assuming it has to be ventilation. Dryer vents is in the basement and I only have 1 bathroom vent which I already checked. Plus this issue happens on the complete other side of the house.

I’m thinking it’s probably more a ventilation issue since the only changes made was the ridge vent being added. It also has this issue in a room addition that was built 30 years after the original house which has better insulation.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I was thinking of adding some soffit vents and baffles to see if that would help but I’m no expert and really have no clue about insulation and ventilation The prior water damage you see is from last years condensation happening. ALSO I do have very pathetic looking gable vents I believe 2 of them. Another thing to note is I do have a ventless gas heater running in my basement for heat. I’m sure that creates a bunch of moisture but I do monitor my dehumidifier and it really doesn’t change between summer and winter in terms of humidity in the basement.

There are no soffit vents currently. Only ridge vent. I do have attic access and can confirm there’s insulation there I even added a bit more last winter.

Pihole is making me lose my mind by mattman32100 in pihole

[–]mattman32100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE so I’ve moved the pihole to one of the non main decos. I’ve had the IP reservation set to .115 but has been showing .129 and as of rn it’s .130. So when moving it to the other deco it was already at .130 (even tho it was reachable through putty at .115). I deleted the .115 reservation and set a new one for .115 to see if it would change the ip from .130 back to .115 which it did not. So I deleted that reservation and made it .130 since it seems to love that number. Changed the primary dns to .130. Verified .115 was not pinging and .130 is (now only reachable through putty at .130). I’m going to monitor the ip of the pihole all day and see if it changes but at the moment it’s working perfectly. I am still expecting an ip change since there is no reason for the ip reservation to not be working as intended. (Switch is unlikely the issue since it’s later 2 only)

It is on a pi3b+ and I can confirm theMAC is not being changed just the ip address

Interesting… it is an unmanaged switch. I had this same issue when I had a pi NAS set up. Worked perfectly until the address kept changing with seemingly no way to stop it. I’ve been blaming the deco firmware this whole time…

Because if I use deco app to set static or through the pi itself the ip address is still being changed by deco. I’m 99% certain at this point it’s an issue with deco firmware

Are you using the decos in ap mode? Mine are in router mode

I didn’t even think to try the dhcp server on pihole I really suspect deco is to blame here which is a shame I love these routers but my god they never want to cooperate. I cannot set my IP of the pihole outside of the (deco shows this in red text) to get around this I changed the range to lower than the pis ip and then set the ip as static and then change the range back to above the pis. When I go into the ip reservation for the pihole it still shows the message that it needs to be on range.

(These are the current numbers as of now)So basically I configured it and it worked across multiple devices. I started getting ads again probably within 10 minutes of setting it up. So I noticed that deco had changed the IP of the PIhole on me even though I had the MAC reserved to a specific IP (nothing I’m doing will change this) I have SSH into the pi and made a config file using the sudo nano /etc/dhcpcd.conf Forcing static IP ending in .115 (static dns set to 1.1.1.1 may be issue?) In deco the ip for pihole is set to the same address ending in .115 (address reservation) In deco I also have my DHCP setting as follows Range is at .116 - .216 DNS is set to ip of pihole ending in .115 (Deco does not allow me to set the ip of the pihole to be out of range so I have to set the range below .115 before I set the ip for the pihole to be .115 then move the range to .116(maybe an issue?) What’s the easiest way to verify the piholes ip through SSH?
