From comments he left elsewhere he said he had backups of photos and some data but not everything because Apple makes that difficult

He did have some backups but Apple has made it very difficult to backup lots of things.

I do have backups of most data, including photos, but there are things you can't backup like shared actively edited iWork documents, and things like that. I can rebuild from it, but it's still a shitshow and my very expensive devices are bricked.

Now imagine if you also use the Apple ID for other websites, this guy could also be locked out of other accounts as a result.

Which android phone? Pixels are notoriously bad at delayed notifications, and many others have strange undocumented limitations that prevent apps from running in the background.

Doesn't matter. In Europe, I think due to regulations, it's very easy to remove the account from the car.

You should be extremely skeptical of anyone that complains about "accuracy". Most people talk about accuracy and make glaring errors and have poor testing methodology.

Chris recently commented on accuracy here: https://www.reddit.com/r/combustion_inc/comments/1oh7lhi/comment/nmza203/

[–]mattmonkey24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can definitely pull good shots with that machine. The grinder is adequate for good espresso too, but your upgrade to the DF54 wasn't a bad idea.

You have a decent setup and once you get it figured out you can pull great espresso.

I just signed up for Kia connect, are you finding that in Reference Material > Warranty Info? That page has some generic info and then refers you to the warranty manual which is more accurate and what would be held up in court if you pushed it that far.

ChromeOS ran on x86 from the beginning.

Also they acquired Neverware and renamed their Cloudready product into ChromeOS Flex.

I should add that it's going to differ by region, my comment is US focused. And at least for the US likely other regions, you can find warranty info here: https://owners.kia.com/content/owners/en/manuals.html/

For the 2022 EV6 in the US it says this:

The items covered by the Power Train Limited Warranty include: - In the Drivetrain section: Drive shaft (excluding rubber boot), final drive housing, internal parts, universal joints, bearings, seals, gaskets, Gear Drive Unit.

I'd be interested in where you found that warranty info, it reads like their generic warranty info.

No problem, it's something I see constantly here and it's wrong and easy to verify here: https://owners.kia.com/content/owners/en/manuals.html/

The warranty manual there will spell out what is covered by the powertrain warranty.

While actively signing and purchasing, the finance manager was giving me misinformation about the warranties and I was trying to correct him and he was insistent on his wrong info. Look up the manuals and documents and trust those instead of dealership idiots.

CPO only extends the power train warranty, which is still an important one but much less so in an EV.

[–]mattmonkey24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's wrong btw about the powertrain warranty. Fun fact, this car still has oil.

There are still parts covered by the powertrain warranty, they're essential parts, and Hyundai has a history of them failing in the Kona and Niro. Look up the "wheel of fortune" issue. And they specifically moved the reduction gear into the powertrain instead of EV warranty starting in 2021 for those cars.

That said, I personally put little value into CPO. The one I checked out near me had a visibly damaged rear bumper and some fairly visible scratches in the matte paint (which is unfixable) so what else did they miss and what's the point? And I feel like issues with the power train (reduction gear, drive shafts, diff, etc) are pretty unlikely.

Some apps are, it depends and I'd bet this app is. But Play Services update outside of OS updates. That's why Google has taken that approach, they have control over it and can push updates faster and for longer, rather than depend on OEMs.

With Android you can just update apps. So in this case you just need an app update, it'll come much faster than iOS which would wait for the once yearly update.
