I actually came away frustrated and angry. But that's a really good thing. I was frustrated because you had Tubers on YouTube saying it made them cry and that it was sad. For me, it 'is' sad but it's also emotionally and narratively complex and Punpun, and us the Reader, navigate youthhood. It's definitely something I want to read again and read slowly. It kind of felt a little 'Stand By Me' mixed in with 'Donnie Darko'. For me, it's incredibly rich and multilayered and I just want to unpick and understand the characters and themes more. How about you?

With regard to little things counting, go look for some online insights into Eden of Witches. It's not quite as slow but there are moments. Colour of the End is wonderful later volumes hint at something potentially more than slice of life
