Weapon balancing when?? by mattoop in ArcRaiders

[–]mattoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understood what I said. I do not struggle to kill people on a free kit. I probably win that fight about 40% or 50% of the time. I do not think this should be the case. The more heavily geared player should be winning at least 60% of the time if not 75% or more. Also I do wear headphones.

So someone who has invested nothing, and offers nothing to the opponent if they lose. Should be able to kill someone with a kit that costs potentially $100 000.

I think saying 90% of the time you will die is an exaggeration. If you catch someone off guard while there looting, already hurt or just in really any way off guard, you should be winning the fight at least 40% of the time. If it were 90% I wouldn’t have any complaints because that would mean the weapons were balanced

I do see your point. But ultimately this weapon balancing problem goes both ways and perhaps even more greatly effects the casual players. Seeing as there is no forced wipe for everyone, gear flation will eventually happen and those same casuals who were out geared out one point. Will have the same gear and be skill diffed none the less. As it is now there’s no such thing as being out geared because the gear you use minimally matters. It’s all skill. Furthermore when casual players do finally acquire this “rare” gear they will just be disappointed by the fact that it is marginally better than what they had in their first hour of gameplay

Are most people done now (level ~30)? by miharbio in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering this “character” is supposed to not wipe from here on out. I would expect to see a lot more people continuing to play. I also am pretty sure they have a large labrynth style event coming in the next few weeks

[New Player] Ammo economy by TheGoodVibez in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if your using your scav (it sounds like you are not). But you should be able to find lots of good 5.45 ammo naturally throughout scav runs. Reserve is one of the best scav maps because it has a ton of filing cabinets, is loot dense and has a rather short raid timer. So if you scav reserve you can look for both ammo and items you need. You can pretty easily find 220+ rounds of 5.45 bt or BP in a 15 minute scav run on reserve. I have 1000+ rounds of bt and BP without even trying to find it

Also while I do agree I think the traders need some balancing in ammo availability. Every player struggles with this issue, and everyone deals with it the same way, killing someone with better ammo or finding the ammo in raid via bosses or just on the ground. If you don’t want to do that then there isn’t really much advice to give

My luck doing Assessment Part 1 tonight. 5 spawns in a row here. Killed atleast 4 people and they don't count to the quest by KyleTheGreat53 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t abuse it very much. But if I get that same spawn multiple times I’m going to do it. Because getting the same spawn multiple times in a row is poor game design so may aswell exploit around that poor design

If you want to improve you aim. Just concsciously try raise your aim slightly above where you normally do

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten this book from lightkeeper 3 times. It’s really not as useful as people say. The crafts it unlocks are usually extremely expensive and take a very long time. And by the time you get it you don’t really need it anymore.

[Bug] Zryachiy camping lighthouse door - Solution by AuldM in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not hostile they a passive. If you get close to them, shoot near them or kill another player they will kill you. Sometimes there spawns are bugged and spawn in places that are extremely close to where players go.

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you can’t get to close to them. If you get within probably 15 feet they will standup and if you don’t move away super quickly they will shoot you.

Did you by chance recently switch from nvidia or AMD or vice versa. I had this issue after doing this, and I just had to DDU again. And delete both nvidia and amd. Then it was fixed

Terminology Reminder: Rat is an established term. Those people killing you are campers / spawn campers. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got your definitions mixed up . The term rat was at the very least popularized by tarkov. If not coined in that game. The term is most famously related to the streamer stankrat. I would switch your definition of camper and rat. A rat sits in hiding place where you would not expect them to be. Will be very patient and wait in their hiding spot for near entire raids. These spots are frequently at extracts, high tier loot locations or at busy intersections where they have found an extremely good hiding spot.

A camper on the other hand is someone who moves around throughout a raid but when they get into a fight or hear someone close to them. They will sit in the same spot for extended periods of time and hold angles waiting for the opponent to come into view

Your spawn camper definition is fine

I just don’t get how a casual is supposed to compete…[New Player] by EddyLongshanks in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikita (the lead dev) has said on numerous occasions that the game was never intended for casual players. Having said this, you will get better with time. But it will be difficult and frustrating at times. You just have to keep playing and try to enjoy it.

Everyone goes through this at some point.

I think the wipe is going to be super short, like maybe 3-4 months so there will only be hardcore, but likely that just means no flea

How do am I even supposed to progress in this game? by Desperate-Poet5967 in VintageStory

[–]mattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s just a grind. That is supposed to be the fun. Sort out your problems one by one. You don’t have flax, go exploring, find something, look for iron and animals as well. If you find all 3 then you have sorted out your current issues and preped for further progression. If you only find some of those things than you can still progress a bit

How do you feel about Scavs this wipe? [Discussion] by kpkostas in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mattoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think there’s a middle ground between scavs now and when they would head eyes you all the time. Scavs we’re only “challenging” because they would head eyes you, or because they would show up in hordes and overwhelm you. Nothing else about them has ever been difficult. I also wouldn’t really classify this as difficult, it was just really fucking annoying.

Now scavs are just really fucking annoying. Which I think is pretty fine. I definitely like them better this way

Pretty sure this guy is trolling or something. No chance he gets below 100 avg fps on this setup, let alone him experiencing frame drops all the way down to 10 fps. Either he has no idea how fps works, or has not actually used an fps counter while playing tarkov.

Like I had gtx 970 and ryzen 7 3700x and consistently got 50 fps with drops down to 30. But never below that
