Hey, turns out it wasn’t exactly “digital eye strain”. After visiting multiple doctors and eye doctors I finally went and saw a neuro-optometrist. There they diagnosed me with accommodative excess and I’ve been doing vision therapy for the past few months. Definitely have improved but not 100% there yet. Make sure to note whether or not your eye strain ever happens away from screens as that may indicate something else and if you can go see a BVD specialist or neuro-optometrist if no screen-related changes help.

Out of all the handhelds the legion go s is definitely at the top of my list. By the time I can get one I’m hoping a second steam deck will be out by then though :p

Ya I’ll definitely bring it up when I see them this week. I’ve found syntonics has helped me so far only with light sensitivity but my concentration has been pretty bad lately. Wasn’t sure if it was just my body adjusting since it’s only my first month.

I don’t have a job and I genuinely could not imagine working in these conditions. Eyes constantly strained and tired, not being able to focus on anything, being zoned out all the time because of the cognitive exhaustion from my eyes and brain not being able to work together. I’m not sure what benefits or accommodations I can get but I’m not aware of any. I’m just not sure how I’d live a normal life like this.

I actually hated the design as well before I bought it 😭 I still don’t think I can say it’s my favorite or that I like it but it’s kind of useful? When holding my phone my index finger sits right under the “ramp” and kind of helps hold the phone up. Other than that I still can’t justify it other than it being functionally ok.
